Do you think we need any new signings in the january transfer window? Or even in the summer? If so, which position of the team would you strengthen and with which players?

I'm going out a limb here, but I think that Jose will purchase the total amount of zero players in January. Although I think we may lose Huth, and Johnson.
Thoughts?
Roy Keane anyone? ;)

As far as I think there's no absolute need to bring in anyone, I have completely no reservations that Mourinho will bring in at least one player in January (as he always had for the past 2 seasons). Could be because one player will be sold (Bridge perhaps) and a cover is needed. Or perhaps Mourinho just sees the need for 'extra cover' (not again). Last 2 season's cover in January (Jarosik and Maniche) have been absolutely unnecessary. For the sake of the younger players, I hope Mourinho think about the likes of Mancienne and especially Diarra, if he is going to use the excuse of extra cover to bring in another worthless player in January.

Let this thread be a speculation as to whom that player may be arriving in January? I'll start with Costinha.

I'd be tempted to say central midfield possibly, but maybe I'm being greedy. Fair enough, we got Essien in to replace Tiago, but we've also lost Smertin, Parker and Jarosik so I think we may be somewhat short of cover with a couple of injuries.

A striker for me, same as last season, we need a 25 goal a season striker, and we don't have one. Adriano would be my player to buy, and the young french talent Ribery perhaps, but apart from that no.

Striker- someone like Torres would be good. Hate to say it but it doesn't look as if Crespo will be here next season.

What is the story on Obi? FIFA were supposed to rule by 31 October on whether he was going to come to us or go to ManUtd.

Adriano has had a falling out with Roberto Mancini apparently. Apparently Adriano does what he wants most of the time and is quite lazy in training, so Inter Milan could be looking to offload him.

He would cost quite a lot, and guess which team has a lot of money. But do we want someone who acts like a child....other than Robben ?

Why, though? We'd have to change the team to suit. If we don't, which 25 goals a season player in the lone striker role should we buy?

We're not short of goals. Drogba has already scored 9 from just 12. How many do you think he'll get this season, even with him disappearing for a month?

Lucas Podolski...the kid is talented and as good as Rooney (yes its true) and under Mourinho he will be one of the best in the world. He was class in the Confederations Cup and is scoring many in the Bundesliga. Only 20years old, and good enough to challange as a striker or second striker. In terms of CM, no one really, but if we do let it be a player from one of our feeder clubs, like Daniel Carvahlo of CSKA who is as good as JCole IMO. At the back we must strenghten the right back spot with young talent that can both attack and defend. I propose that we sell Geremi and loan Johnson out to a lower table team or top Championship side, and we should by Chidi Odiah, a 22 year old Nigerian International who plays for CSKA Moskow as well. Trust me he is better all-around than Cicinho, or all these overhyped flavor of the month players. Thats about it.

It would be too early for Lukas Podolski to go to England (and change to Chelsea!) now. He needs his social background very much.

You can buy and buy and buy - but you always need to integrate these players into your game. Otherwise you just have another unsatisfied squad member.

(Is it possible and allowed to use the term 'integrate' in this context? Sorry if not! > Preposition?)

Podolski is a good shout maybe we can buy him now, keep him in Germany on loan as his value will again increase after the world cup, we could buy Franck Ribery

Yeah, I haven't seen a Chelsea player score from 40-yards for a while;-)
