We do not have solid wingers and we still try to play 4-3-3. Why do not we go back to 4-4-2 diamond? I want to see
Torres-D.S
----Mata
-Lampard-Ramires
----Essien(Romeu)

It is the best tactic fits our squad at the moment.

Lampard has a knock Ramires does to and will be out at least 3-4 weeks, Essien is just coming back and is better in a central role IMO.. and Romeu has been poor. Also Mikel is out. With everyone healthy I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1, with Mikel and Essien deep with Ramires on the right Lamps in the middle and Mata out left (Sturridge in rotation with Ramires)

AVB looked a great appointment.. although to be honest the players are to blame. We once were team I was proud to call my own.. even when we werent good I loved the club for its flair and how it e...xcited the fans.. people like zola and di matteo even if we lost the fans got thier moneys worth.. the team excited the fans.. and although didn't win everything they were my club.. I could honesty speak with honour to say Chelsea is my team I didn't want to support a glory hunter like man united.. and I dont live close to liverpool neither did I feel a special feeling with them. but right now the chelsea I see reduce me to absolutely complete sadness..

Basically this.

At this rate, he would probably hand in a transfer request soon.

If I recall, Barcelona and Hleb have cancelled his contract by mutual consent. Signing Hleb for the rest of the season? I've heard worse ideas.

IIRC, read that he was in talks with Olympiakos. Even if we were to go for him, will he join us given his history with Arsenal?

I'm only 26 but this Chelsea side are by some distance not the worst I've seen. Don't be such a drama queen.

There's a middle ground with AVB, and that's firmly where I sit- he should not be sacked, but he's done a fairly poor job so far. He must be given the chance to improve (and a real chance, so a few seasons), but he must also show signs of improvement. We could be playing better and picking up better results than we are with our squad- while it might be the player's 'fault' (fault being a stupid word for it) that they aren't title-winning material any more, it's the manager's fault that they're barely looking like CL qualifiers.

Plus we came 6th in 97 that was a great year. Its a poor run of form but its not that bad. I think were only 3 or 4 decent signing's from challenging next season.

It's almost too convenient.

From memory, I've seen him play out on the left and more through the middle. Can't see it happening though.

The problem is that it takes us 3 or 4 seasons to make 3 or 4 decent signings.

Hleb was released cause he has been rubbish. Rubbish for birmingham, stuttgart ( I think) and doubt he'd suddenly become the old hleb here.

Well didn't this all go well eh? We spent the most on Cahill who can't get a game and bloke who has a creative edge that we have sent back out.

Splendid.

I guess if we really wanted to we could sign Hleb, or we could try to get Krasic on loan or even recall Yossi. I doubt any of that will happen though.

Here have Josh on loan, Yossi too oh and also KDB, we don't need these players we will do OK with Malouda, Mereiles and injuries to Ramires and Lampard.

But will they come if we can't secure CL football?

I was just going to mention that actually. Love how people throw about stats when they are plainly just incorrect.

It's like those in charge at Chelsea watch a completely different group of players to us twice a week, it really is. Any of us could have told them what the problems were and what needs to be addressed and they can't manage to see/do it.

Fair enough if they waiting until the summer for a big overhaul, but clearly we need quite a bit more than we have now to achieve the targets we should be aiming for.

Not without RIDICULOUS financial packages and the knowledge that they won't be behind the old guard in the pecking order.

A small change of under-performing players is all we can ask and expect but I am not holding by breath as I feel AVB is worried about making changes, IE starting Lukaku, giving Josh a chance in a midfield void of bodies now and lack of a different edge etc etc.
