Truly tragic news.
From all at CFCnet and football fans across the world, we send our most heartfelt condolencies to the family and friends of one of the greatest ever footballers to grace to the hallowed turf of Stamford Bridge.
Out from the Shed,
Come a rising young star,
Scoring goals past Pat Jennings from near and from far.
And Chelsea won,
As we all knew they would,
And the star of that great team was Peter Osgood.
Osgood, Osgood, Osgood, Osgood.
Born is the ki-ing of Sta-amford Bridge!
R.I.P Peter Osgood.
Thank you for some truly memorable moments and being such a great part of the history of Chelsea Football Club.
Full official statements to follow.

Thanks to everyone who tried to start topics on this one, we all know how you felt about the man, but we needed to be very careful even though we first heard this news around 12:30 today.
My apologies to you all, I deleted them without notification. I know you'll understand.

I'd love to post something more meaningful really, just stunned.
A complete and utter legend, my last memory of him was the Liverpool game, his half time walk around the pitch. Utter class. Rest In Peace Peter.

The first man I truly loved - when I was a boy and Chelsea were my team probably the main reason was Ossie - a player truly touched by genius and a lovely feller too. What a rotten bit of news.
Stuff Barca for him Boys!
