It shows an incredibly forgiving nature from Ossie. Emlyn had passed away before the interview and now sadly has Peter.

It's to be noted that Hughes was at Blackpool at the time, not Liverpool yet.

"He [Osgood] also told me what he'd like to do to Kerry Dixon for reasons I still can't divulge, and it wasn't pleasant."
I'd love to know what that is... for solely prurient reasons of course :)

I gonna miss all these Osgood tales...
He was a great speaker and story-teller...

That caught my attention as well. I wonder what it was...

More stuff on Hughes ( and Tommy Smith hating him) here in the Telegraph a few days ago.
Quote
Their mutual loathing had been cemented earlier when Smith alleges that Hughes told him that a number Arsenal players were willing to throw a match for £50 a man.
"I'd take a lie-detector test. He did say that, but I thought he might have been trying to set me up. I was that disgusted I didn't tell anyone except Ian Callaghan. From then on, I disliked him that much and he disliked me that much. As a footballer, he was very good. As a person, he wasn't."
I always felt that Osgood's comments on Hughes were just what had been written for him for his speech, not what he actually felt. Indeed the whole of that article Harry links to could have been taken from his (very good I thought) auto-biography.
