We have two fantastic LB prodigies in Bertrand and PVA. Ashley is now clearly past it and tbh I hope the injury he has rules him out at least for a while. Bertrand should be getting game time from here on.

Isn't it sad that those two's chance of getting a sniff of first team action can only happen under certain circumstances. I still can't understand manager's/avb's fascination with reputation and the same disgusting mentality is shared by some members on this board and football fans in general. I await the time when team selection will be based solely on merit and not whether a player has 100 international caps.

It's got nothing to do with reputation. It's common sense. The team is under performing big time, and relying on these guys could potentially ruin their development. Currently we aren't in the perfect environment to blood youngsters.

Just a correction here, but Bertrand is no longer a youngster. He's 22. I understand if McEachran isn't going to be put in cause he's 18. But Bertrand is 22 and if Romeu who is 20 can be blooded into the side, when there are 3 more experienced players ahead of him then Bertrand with ONE injured left back ahead of him should get his chance.

Romeu is an AVB vanity project.

AVB is a massive Barcelona admirer and he took him as a way of showing Barcelona that he can integrate youth players into adult football. From the way he talks about Barcelona it's pretty clear it's his ideal job and is no doubt using Romeu's development to enhance any chance he has with them in the future.

He doesn't give a damn about Bertrand or any other youngster.

all the Cole fans, it seems like you`ve got your wish. Cole looks like he`s going to get his 'rest' and when he comes back he`ll be the 'best left back in the world' again!

No it's not. Bertrand is certainly older and far more experienced than Romeu yet it's the La masia youngster than get's the nod

I was alluding to AVB's genius masterplan to take over at the Nou Camp... *still chuckling*

Anyway, I'm not interested if they are apples and pears, who is better?

Based on his performances and now this, I wouldn't be too bothered if he went into business with jay-z right now and called it quits for us
