This is the first I've heard of this rumor. I confess to having watched only one game of FC Porto involving this guy, and he wasn't too impressive. Here's the link to the rumor on Goal.com:
Hulk to Chelsea rumor

He's Brazilian, has a strong left foot...is 23 yrs old and was the top scorer with 3 goals in the recently concluded Peace Cup....FC Porto themselves signed him just last year. It just seems strange that we've been linked to him, especially because he hasnt really set the world on fire, inspite of being older than the likes of Kalou...Here's a link to the Youtube Video

Does anyone else know more about him? Or has anyone else watched him more often in the Portuguese League?

Yes he turns green when mad, will probably pick up The Bridge when we are losing and tip the ball into the opponents goal. Very strong, not quick but he probably give us something with his width.

If he had a Mario Jardelesque goal ratio then maybe, but I've never been overly impressed by him in the past and I think we can do better.

A bit dissapointed with us being linked with him....only by goal.com I confess I haven't seen a lot of him but a mate of mind has and he says that he is treemendous player he doesn't shut the fcuk about him!

So maybe he will be a good signing 40 million euros is quite a bit of money maybe if we could get him for something like 20 or so....

Sure he does have better technique than Kalou but I see the same problems of poor decision making in Salou's in Givanildo. Lisandro Lopez is twice as good as Hulk (1 cup goal) who couldn't even manage Kalou's numbers. I'd keep Kalou.

Very boring rumour, its seems that only goal.com picked it up and thats not a very trustworthy source. Hulk? He is a ok player I suppose.
