As a season ticket holder of 20-odd years I find this to be one of the most nauseating and cheap chants I have ever encountered.

It is embarrassing for me to sit in the Shed Upper and hear those at the back chant a song that:
a/. was originally sung by Liverpool fans for Benitez;
b/. was to the tune of La Bamba as their manager is Spanish;
c/. also involves "kerrazzzeee" adlibbing such as shouting "arrrriiiba";
d/. is for a manager who has not exactly set the world alight;
e/. annoyingly sticks in my head all week even though I loathe it!

It really makes the Shed Upper look like we have a bunch of newbies sitting there who really haven't got a clue - what next, we will sing a song in praise of our players or managers to the tune of "You'll Never Walk Alone"?

Let's have something a bit more original.

Oh and while I am at it - Zigger Zagger - we don't need to sing this 10 times a game - once or twice should be enough!

I don't want to be too negative as I appreciate everyone wants there to be an atmosphere at the Bridge - but I feel the spontaneity and originality of chants still derives from the Matthew Harding rather than the Shed Upper.

You sound like you don't like singing at all, or one of those constant moaners, I don't give a fig how long you've been going to Chelsea, that's what you sound like.

Very good response well done!

I don't like that chant either, heard it once or twice and it is cringeworthy.

Definitely agree with this, especially the bit about Zigga Zagga. Zigga Zagga does nothing to contribute to the atmosphere and wastes about 2 minutes or so that could be used to sing to get behind the team. It's something good for the 'less important' games or games where there's nothing in terms of atmosphere but that's where it should stop.

Cut out the personal digs.

And as for MH leading the spontaneity and originality, this song is sung in MHL too. And I don't mind it.

Quite right - let's keep it civil.
As for the choice of songs, well I have my favourites, same as everyone else, but as long as we're singing something - that's the main thing.

This chant was created by chelsea legend Mickey Greenaway who should never be forgotten. So I disagree about it being used too much and doing nothing to contribute to the atmosphere. Greenaway ruled the terraces and Zigga Zagga is a classic.

I know mate and it's fine to be used every now and then but when the club need the fans to be cheering them on, like in this title race, doing Zigga Zagga isn't exactly the best.

The MH is what makes the atmosphere at the Bridge, the east and west stands rely on the MH to start up the atmosphere and then they occasionally join in. When the MH is doing Zigga Zagga it not only makes that stand pretty quiet but also at least 2 others.

Don't get me wrong, we need to keep the tradition of it but it just feels over used and is annoying when an atmosphere is bubbling and then 2 minutes is taken out of it for us to keep going 'oi oi oi' every few seconds. I wouldn't have the problem if everyone did the 'oi oi oi' bit as that would sound amazing but people don't join in on that.
