Great reverse pass yesterday for Danny Grahams first goal, if only we had someone on the books to provide like that for Torres!

He did have one nice reverse pass to Graham, but it wasn't for his goal. Thought he looked good when Swansea were on the counter at least. When people are moving in front of him he can be very good at picking an incisive pass, but he lacks a lot of other attributes needed to impose himself in the midfield right now. Especially at Swans, who's midfield makes up for a lack of technical brilliance with a very high energy style, he looks off the pace of the game. Overall I feel positive since I think this is exactly the kind of experience he needs to round himself out. Just a bit worried if he doesn't do well straight off then he'll drop out of contention for minutes.

Maybe we can send Merieles to Swansea so he can get some experience and round himself out.

Sustained. It was off the ball where he lacked, which could be great, because it'd give him a something to work on, however, Leon Britton is very similar to McEachran & that anchor deep-lying playmaker role, both Britton & McEachran naturally do that, so it'll take them a little to establish how to work off each other

he will do if he kkeeps contributing to defeats. Bit worried he's been there for 4 games and they have lost the 3 he played in and won the only one he sat out. Thought he was slow getting back to help when Norwich were attacking for a couple of goals though he probably wouldn't have helped much. I trust he'll pick it up over the coming weeks, just good he's getting some time out there in the middle I guess.

he wont be a starter, they prefer two energetic midfielders to play the holding role and get the ball to the wings as fast as possible. in the centre they bought siggurdson who is a good player, great freekick taker so he will be played nearly for that but he also has a good shot on him and likes to go for the killer pass, very similar to gerrard. swansea probably needed a striker more then they needed mceachran. he will get games because chelsea is probably paying mceachran's entire wages and have a stipulation to play him in x games. however his first loan to a PL club will mean alot of pressure. at worst it will be good experience, bad loans dont always mean a player is not good, 6 months isn't enough time to settle and the manager wont give you a chance unless you far and away the better player for that position, something josh isn't.

I had high expectations for him! He had a great summer with us and I am %100 sure he is not going to perform worse than those we have right now. He is not going to be a starter for Swansea but he will have more minutes in coming weeks.

Not sure any of the defeats can be pinned on him though. Swansea's bubble was always going to burst eventually.

As good as the football they've played this season has been they haven't got the quality to compete with many of the teams around them in the middle of the table. Everything Rodgers has done there has been about maximising the ability of a fairly average squad. Now the initial buzz of reaching the big league has died down and they start playing teams for the second time they'll start to lose a few more, it's inevitable, and just unfortunate that the slump will coincide with Josh's arrival. They'll stay up though, they're good enough to warrant that. I guess we just have to look at what Josh is doing individually rather than how their results look with him in the side.

Agreed, we might do at Chelsea but they and their fans might not if they lose and the game is passing him by.
