I remember Malouda being amazing against Real Madrid when playing for Lyon. I just fail to see how'd be an improvement on Malouda.

Who says he has to be? We have absolutely no other wingers.

Having someone who could play on the right, or could offer Malouda some rest every now and then sounds like a good buy to me.
He's supposed to be cheap and we need wingers. Adds up to me.

Douglas Costa would be a better choice.

Yes, he can play as attacking midfielder and both wings in a 4-2-3-1.

I'm not so sure in a 4-3-3. Here he could play on both wings, but I don't know about the middle.

At current form, almost anybody half decent could be an improvement on Malouda.

Malouda might be our leading scorer, but what we've lacked upfront is a bit of imagination and to address the issue is by getting a player who would improve us in that aspect surely? Or we might as well retain the squad as it is, because Yuri can offer us pretty much what Willian is more likey to (imo)

Ideally in the middle, probably not that suited to the wings but its pushed there write often so knows how to play it.
I really really like lucas, the one in brazil amazing player but willian would probably be cheaper and fit quicker into the team.

Perhaps. But Yury is injured all the time and is yet to play a bigger role in our squad.

I have no doubt Willian would offer us something Malouda doesn't, but I don't see why he needs to be a better player than Malouda to offer us something what we lack.
At least that's how I understood the comment.

Personally I think Willian is brilliant and a future superstar.. everytime I watched him for shakhtar he has been their best player and played some beautiful moments. This is the type of player we need.

That'd be a nice change from the bad moments

Instead of him been a replacement for Malouda, would it not make more sense for him to be a possible replacement for Yossi, they play the same positions plus he isn’t injury prone.

Isn't this guy a winger? For somebody being heralded as the answer to our creative midfield problems, I don't think I've seen him play in the middle.

I'd really love to have this guy, versatile and could go a long way in solving our width problem on the right hand side. Obviously more of an attacking midfielder than a pure winger but how many real wingers are available these days? It's mainly guys who cut inside or second strikers who drift out - I think Willian would make an excellent wide player for us

Thought he was a left winger, seems to play in a similar way out wide as Hulk at Porto.
