A topic dedicated to our new manager, as per request.
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that Andre Villas-Boas will be the club's new manager.
He has signed a three-year contract and will start work immediately.
Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time. His ambition, drive and determination matches that of Chelsea and we are confident Andre's leadership of the team will result in greater successes in major domestic and European competitions.
Andre will bring his coaching experience back to a club he is already very familiar with, having previously worked here for three years. He has always been highly regarded at Chelsea and everyone here looks forward to welcoming him back and working with him.

He comes across as far more clued up than Ancelotti. That is enough for me. Welcome and good luck.

Great news in all honesty. Given his track record I'm pretty sure he'll be able to light a fire under our attack and midfield and maybe we can go back to playing football again.
Welcome to Chelsea FC Andre Villas-Boas!

Great appointment.
The choice of backroom staff will be crucial but that feeling of Chelsea not being adequately prepared for the opposition should be a thing of the past with AVB's meticulous methods.

And once again Graeme Souness proves why he couldn't make it as a manager.
Idiot.
I'd put alot of money on AVB having more managerial knowledge and talent in his little toe than Souness has in his entire body.
Fantastic appointment for us, I'm both delighted and really excited by it. 2 or 3 decent signings and a good pre-season and I've no doubt we'll be enjoying a successful season this year.

This guy was always my first choice - young, exciting, talented. Just the sort of guy to refresh the team and begin a new era at the club.
He won the league by 21 points last season, we have 8 more games than them so we'll aim for 30 points clear!
Either way I really hope we give him time, if he doesn't win anything in his first year give him the chance to build a team and win things the next year!
