As long as we do not get Marseilles, Lyon or Milan I would be pretty happy.

Since I won't have the spare time or cash for a European away trip, I'm going to selfishly hope for one of the Russian teams. :-p Preferably Zenit, because even if they are supposedly quite dull I've not really seen anything of them and so they'd be the most interesting to me.

I want my first match against Barca. I want us to beat them 5-2 at home and 4-0 away, if I am being generous. Then I want them to disappear for the remainder of the season (and take Romeu back if they start crying to UEFA and we go to CAS ..only joking). Then I dont care about this tournament at all, and I want the Kids/Reserves to be given a chance in every game since Barca, while our big boys can stay fit and healthy full-speed for the Premiership. That is what I want.

On the one hand, I wouldn't mind an exciting fixture, but on the other, I want Chelsea's route to the final to be easy. Usually I hope for the other English clubs to get a hot draw for entertainment (like Arsenal and Spurs last season) but oh, the Mancs didn't qualify and I don't think Arsenal can compete against the other big euro clubs at the moment.
As it stands though I believe we should be expecting to beat any of those teams. It depends on our form. If we find true form (with all our strikers firing and we're solid like we were), we should shrug off even Milan without too many problems.

I'm not too fussed really, I'm just relieved we didn't drop out into the Europa League, Thursday night Channel 5, no thanks.
I would fancy our chances against any of those sides, Milan and Napoli probably the most dangerous, best draw would probably be against Lyon, Marseille or Basel. Best to avoid the Russians due to the distance and cold.
We got a good chance of getting to the QFs.

Ideally Basel but seeing as it's us it will probably be Napoli or Milan. Really wanted Ajax to go through for the trip to Amsterdam. Definitely something moody going on the way Lyon got through!

Milan aren't that good, they have a weak defence and ageing midfield plus their best player never turns up to big matches. Don't be fooled by the fact that they're the champions of Italy, it's a weak league. Even Tottenham beat them last season. We'd beat them comfortably in my opionion.

Basel, Lyon, Milan, Marseille, Napoli, the Russians
In that order as I will be going to the away game so I don't fancy getting stabbed in Napoli or Marseille and the Russian trips will be expensive, I think we will beat all of them people worried about Milan are basing it on their name rather than a team that Spurs beat comfortably last year.

Just something slightly random but our Last 16 opponents for past 3 seasons had a manager or player formerly associated to us. In 08/09, we got Juventus, who was managed by Ranieri then. We got Inter in 09/10 managed by Mourinho and of course last season, we came up against FC Copenhagen who had Gronkjaer in their ranks.
IF that trend continues, then we'll get Marseille who is of course managed by Didier Deschamps.
