Same as every year we get to the last 16. Lyon, please. Please, please, please.

I'm most worried about Napoli, I think we would struggle against their way of playing. Milan I think we should be able to handle, they don't look that strong this year.

Ugh, so here we all go again. Controversy, penalties (or lack of), referees, dreams, nerves, pressure, euphoria, tears... BRING IT ON!

Ha ha - you're so right - we all moan about it but it's a love-hate relationship we have with the competition, don't we?

I think it's got a different feel this year: firstly we've actually had to work to qualify, not just turn up (admittedly that was partly our own fault). Secondly there's the relief not only to have made it through to the later stages, but to have avoided the Europa League. I've never heard Fergie sound so depressed - falling into that cr4p competition... long away trips on a Thursday night, then playing catch-up on Sundays - that's exactly what we've avoided!

All of the teams in the other half of the draw deserve respect, but I don't see anyone that we shouldn't be able to get past, particularly over two legs.

Not wishing to be seen to get ahead of myself, but L'Arse in the quarter finals, anyone? "Oh Wayne Bridge..."

Lyon would be a great draw, but for whatever reason I have a feeling we're going to get Milan.

I would rather not draw Milan, Napoli or the Russian teams. Any of the others would be fine although I think it would be particularly amusing to draw Basel and then knock them out convincingly :)

saw the el classico... the talent in those two teams is scary.. would enjoy seeing are team tested against them.. and for all those fools comparing city to barca... that is naivety tBH... Barca are miles ahead of City.. in terms of play and threat.. hope we thrash them come monday..

wouldn't mind a bit of lyon, but as for the 2nd round I'd prefer it not to be napoli or milan (save one of them for the last 8 assuming we get through). amazing that we topped the group seeing as before the valencia game even started we were hoping for the 2nd spot at least!

Anyway I have faith; as always, that we can do the job against whomever we get. AVB's coming up trumps

To be honest, for the sake of us travelling fans id take anything but Russia. And if safety concerns are top of our agenda that rules out Marseille and Naples as well.

Basle would be ace:) Show them mancs how it's done:)

Is Marseille really that bad? I'm well acquainted with Naples and its nastiness, but have never been to Marseille. Keep hearing things about our recent away game there, anybody care to go into a little detail about their experience?

How about the 2nd round 1st leg 3-1 in 2000!! Just as good in my books when you consider our team were not as strong. One of my favourite nights at the Bridge.

Mate it was awful. I went last year and although everything seemed nice at first it quickly went downhill. I got robbed of my ticket outside the ground and when trying to talk to the police about it I was told to basically **** off and that there was a police station 5km away. As if I'd be interested to walk alone in that neighbourhood.... It took me almost two hours to get to talk to someone who took me seriously, and that was after I threatened to report their actions (or lack thereof) to Chelsea and that I had filmed how rude they were. They finally let me in the ground (probably for safety reasons) and I caught the last two minutes of the game.

After the game we were held for hours while Marseille fans stood on the other side of the fence slicing their hands over their throats at us. Once we got down the tube roughly 20-30 Marseille fans were down there and it obviously kicked off.

Some of my mates had to escape through an emergency exit and was subsequently hunted down all the way back to the hotels, many getting a serious beating. If it had not been for one humane Marseille supporter who guided me back to my hotel and stopped others from attacking I can imagine I'd be facing the same treatment as my mates.

The day after two of my friends were attacked by Marseille fans armed with knives down the marina. Thankfully their cuts were not too serious but it could have ended badly.

Never setting my foot there again. They're animals.

yeah that was an amazing 10 min spell where we scored 3... even now when I look at the two line ups I feel the same amazement..

Barcelona: Hesp, Puyol, Abelardo, F. De Boer, Bogarde, Gabri, Xavi, Cocu, Figo, Kluivert, Rivaldo. Subs: Arnau, Reiziger, Dehu, Guardiola, Litmanen, Dani, Simao
