For anyone wondering why AVB bought Cahill, read this interesting piece by Zonal Marking.

Interesting without being very insightful. JT is probably the most intelligent defender in the Prem - way ahead of Ferdinand. I've seen him charge out of the back 2 leaving Alex one to one with the CF but pre-empting a pass into a man with space and completely nullifying a counter attack before the ball has even reached our half. The idea that Cahill will be a wise head to a reckless JT is a newspaper stereotype, but nonsense.
Then while the article recognises that Cahill leads the offside stats because Bolton play offside and lead the stat as a team, they don't address the real story - how many times do Bolton fail to catch opponents offside. 46 goals conceded - more than any other PL side - suggests a lot.
And most weird - they seem to be congratulating AVB on replacing the 09/10 first team line up. That 09/10 first 11 is probably the best first 11 we have ever seen at any PL club. They were played to death because of little back up, and the bench was very ordinary - but the starters were absolutely terrific. Replacing those starters rather than providing the rest of the squad to back them up is being daft, not smart.

It would appear that Cahill may be making his debut tomorrow. I found it odd he was benched for the games that he was, supposedly so could get used to AVB's system. If so, given the way we've played this year most of the team should be benched!

Been watching him and he seems to be adapting well to our backline - he does look like a solid CB and has that additional burst of pace that we've been lacking when teams break against on the counter attack. Hope gary continues growing as he will be a bargain at 7 million pounds!

Quite funny if you ask me, shows he has a sense of humour.
Wasn't it Torres who sang it? Either way, it's quite funny. I just read a link on that page above about AVB's choice of song and how it went down. An omen. Symbolic?

The way he got lambasted before he even wore the shirt was quite hilarious though. Very good signing, crucial in fact.
Top signing, only bad game so far was against Napoli and he was hardly helped by AVB's ridiculous lineup. This guy has also got an unbelievable strike on him.
