Aswell as this you have Lampard, Cole, Drogba, Terry and Cech who are all a shadow of the players they used to be (mainly down to age)
So the mainstream players I think we should start to build a team around are Luiz, Cahill, Ivanovic, Ramires, Romeu, Sturridge and Mata
As for Torres....well my sunday league team are desperately short up front!

He's always been a reliable back up and has never really let us down? I'd rather Cech, Courtois, Hilario as opposed to Cech Courtois and Turnbull.

Out
Hilario
Paulo
Bosingwa
Kalou
Malouda
Mikel
Drogba (more because I don't think he will sign for only 1 year)
Benayoun
In
Sorensen (Or a similar type GK)
Azpilicueta
Eriksen
Goetz
Willan
Cavani
I honestly think Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku are enough options for CF. If Lukaku gets loaned out then perhaps another option in, but certainly not a star striker. If Torres continues to misfire then Sturridge deserves a full go at CF. The defence is fine for me. I would perhaps get rid of one of Bosingwa or Ferreira to blood a young wing-back. An Eriksen in the midfield would be great. And then lastly 2 pure wingers. Willian would be a great start. And a quick, creative attacker in the mould of Goetze, Hazard, Shaquiri, Muller, Jovetic etc. I really don't want to see another striker doubling as a winger again.

Boswinga
Ferreira
Malouda
Drogba
I'd not lose any sleep if Mikel or Meireles left either but I don't think they will. Personally I'd also keep Kalou as a squad option if he was happy to stay.

Takes up a valuable foreign spot imo.

Hazard/Willian/Jovetic/Di Maria
Cavani/Llorente/Gomez/Lavezzi/Hulk
Azpilicueta
I'd be happy with a few of these, although I am treating this like football manager

As fans many of us seem to be further away from the mentally of the club than ever. The more resistant they are the more certain we are that a player like Piazon who has never played a professional match of football is already miles better than a player like Malouda who has helped us win FA Cups and League titles etc. I'm not saying he is still the same player but we have already forgotten what he and the others have done for the club, while we fetishise our youngsters as if they are our true stars. Neither approach seems healthy or helpful to me, it takes balance, and time. A player of supreme potential like Josh is showing that you can't just jump straight into a team and player like a master. If we were hypothetically to use those players next season what position do you think we would finish in? Or is that secondary to proving we can develop* our own players at this point?
* so to speak

Very true.
Modric was unproven leaving Dinamo Zagreb & Torres was proven leaving Liverpool.
Everybody!! What do you think about Eden Hazard? Is he proven or unproven, because I don't know what the status quo's requirements are these days for proven players.
Yugi says we can forget about getting good players without the Champions League, we have to go for unproven players rather than proven players.
So I need to know whether Hazard is proven or not. Since he is just a good Lille player.
Wait a minute, so now you are saying that, having UCL the following season will be a blow to our chances, rather than something that stops us from getting quality players altogether, that's what you are saying now right & you now recognise there are other factors.
Eden Hazard as an example, who actually really favoured Madrid, has decided to come to the Premier League, one of the most important things for him is to be at a big club, where he plays. If you were an agent, would you have advised your client to sign for Everton over Liverpool when it seemed that Everton were in the UCL & Liverpool were not going to be in it, or do you think that perhaps they aren't going to make decisions based off of one season?
For me the difference between proven and unproven remain playing at the highest level.
You agree that croatian league and premier league are not the same. (Modric vs Torres 3-4 years ago)
Modric was a good player with potential, at that time, Torres was a beast
For me Hazard is pure class. He is a good player, with big potential, but still unproven at the highest level. Living in France, I watch the league at time, Hazard is above every winger in France, there is no comparison...
So there is no logic in football, we have seen so many players failing to lift themselves at the highest standard despite being tipped for glory...
And we must look before at what we have, Hazard despite being unproven in premier league, will be better than any other winger we have at the moment ! So in Hazard case, there is no question about that, we must get him !

Messi was good with Ronaldinho around, but the second Ronaldinho left Messi became a world beater. Players step up when they have a leadership role. You shouldn't waste your leadership roles on players that are losing a step. My suggestions for Chelsea:
Transfers this summer:
Lampard - great player, but his accomplishments make it hard to drop him to bench. It also makes it harder for younger players to take leadership roles.
Drogba - similar to Lampard's situation
Torres - I don't think our team fits him
Malouda, Kalou, Bosingwa, Feriera(?) and Raul Mierales are wild cards. only replace them if there's alternatives.
Bring in:
(My bring in is obviously assuming everything works like a video game and there's really no intangibles blocking the transfers)
Di Maria - seems to want out, He's the best winger in the world; we need a winger -40mil
Ayew - also a very promising winger that tracks back. he'l be pretty cheap and doesn't have to start many games for Chelsea. he seems a hard working winger that will track back often -15mil
Hazard -not as big a priority as Di Maria but he can become an awesome player here. 35mil
a CF - not sure if there's a better option than Cavani but we should certainly try to bring one in. Danny boy cannot be our main CF going into the next year. he will be a backup CF and RW, if he's not happy and underperforms we should look at Willian or another winger that's not as "ambitious" as Danny boy seems to be.. CF - 30mil
This spending spree will cost about 120mill. around 90 mill if you add our player sales.
Our typical match day squad
4231
------------------Chec
Ivan-------Luiz-------Terry------Cole
-----------Ramirez--Romeu-----------
Di Maria--------Mata-----------Hazard
------------------Cavani?--------------------
Bench-- Turnbull, Stturidge. Cahill, Essien, Ayew, Josh M?
