Andy Gray is right. If Torres had played like that last night instead of Drogba, the media would be battering him right now.

And I agree too. Drogba is just a more muscular version of Torres. But as his main weapon has deserted him he is even worse than the spaniard.

The club's emphasis on goalscorers or strikers as the solution to our problems is killing the club. We have Lukaku waiting and he has the worst of both Torres and Drogba combined. The emphasis in modern game is on forward players who posses all round ball skills. Neither Torres not Drogba belong to that group. In fact Drogba could not make an accurate 5 yd pass.

What most people seem to have ignored in that game is the work rate. You can have the best selection, the most skilful players, the best formation, but if the players refuse to put in the work rate in terms of their movement and speed, you come out with nothing.

Hello Chaps,
As you can imagine it was a very exciting night for all the Napoli supporters and we truly enjoyed it!! :-p
Said that though, nothing is decided yet. If Maggio scored the 4th at the end of the game it would have been a different story of course but as it stands I'd say it's 60% Napoli - 40% Chelsea.
It will be a difficult one for us at the Bridge and I hope our lack of experience will be compensated by the hungriness of our young team.
Overall I wasn't too much impressed by Chelsea and it is clear that you are not currently playing as a team, We have been lucky to play Chelsea at this difficult time you are going through at the minute.
I got my flights booked so I will be at the Bridge for the return leg!! Hurrah!! :-)
You might want to enjoy the short video I took at the San Paolo on Tuesday.

May the best team win but....... Forza Napoliiiiiiiiiii!!!!! :-D
Cheers.

You can talk tactics etc all day long but quite simply, why start a CL game away at Napoli with Meireles and Malouda in midfield with Essien and Lampard on the bench? Anyone could talk to me all day until blue in the face and I wouldnt ever move from my belief that the selection was nothing sort of nonsense.

Meireles is neither a good holding player or an attacking force. Malouda is not a CM and his force as a forward player has gone. I am just baffled. It is as though he is deliberately trying to lose to get sacked.

I'm firmly in your camp. As for the last part about getting sacked, I just think the bloke is a complete clown.

I am getting torn between, "let's give the manager to seasons to see what he can do" and "let's get rid of him before he does any more damage"

With all his baffling selections, and all this reported dis-harmony in the camp there is only way it's all going IMO, and that's down.

I cannot for one minute longer defend him, he has lost my faith in him and any hope I had for us finishing top four.

Finally got home at 0230 this morning due late running flights and missed connections, all I can say is one loyalty point for all that aggro and a shite performance to boot, thankfully I did manage to keep my arse cheeks intact !!!

Mata my MOM, just because he scored

I can't believe his team selections he started our three worst players this season namely malouda, merieles, and bosingwa, not only that he keepes playing luis at centre back a player who can't defend there third goal was a joke school boy defending, time to go AVB now. we will win nothing with this muppet in charge.

Nicely put. That's exactly where I am at the moment as well.

Sure changes needs to be made but there is a limit for how much damage I can accept this man causing.

A guy I know works at the training ground, and is involved with coaching ( for obvious reasons I`ll say no more ). I saw him in the pub just before Christmas, at that time I think we were just a few points off the top, and none of the current storms had started. We were still a lot of pundits shout for the title, but had wobbled with a few of bad results ( Arsenal, QPR Liverpool ) and questions were beginning to be asked about the tactics ( high line and all that ) but no real bad stuff about AVB was coming out.
I said to him " whats happening with our team then mate ? I think we need to out a few players in January don`t you ? " He replied, "players ? we need to get rid of that arrogant c*** of a manager thats what we need to do, he is one arrogant c***, and he`s upset just about everybody at the training ground" I was quite shocked by this at the time, I for one had been delighted with his appointment, and just thought this guy was over reacting. We now know, by his actions that AVB IS one arrogant c***. Nothing is ever his fault, he has absolutely no man management skills, he reacts every time something is said that he dosnt agree with. He needs to learn very fast, a bit of humility and to know when to fight battles and when to let things go. If he can do that, who knows. I`m not sure that he can though.

At the previous post, no offence mate, but that story looks extremely, EXTREMELY fabricated. If you want me to elaborate I can but I dont know if you want me to call you out on it.
