  1. Injury News

I've never been the biggest fan of international competition qualifiers. It is really annoying when our top players are injured on international duty!!
  2. Injury News

Kante apparently suffered a hamstring injury in the warm up for France's qualifier this evening. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50019266 Wishing him a speedy recovery.
  3. Who would be your second choice Ham? Assuming SFL is your first, of course.
  4. There is something odd about it, isn't there? Not sure if you've opined already, and apologies if I've missed it but, who are you fancying to be our next manager?
  5. Although Lampard may not have much management experience behind him, I'd be happy with him as our manager. No denying he's not Chelsea through and through, of Jody comes back with him that makes two, Cech I'd back and it looks like Maka will be too, not a bad "Chelsea Management Committee" if they can keep ego out of it, which I think they will, it could be the start of something fantastic. Second choice, Mourinho, still love the guy, certainly don't think he's finished at the top level and his second time here and time at Man U will have changed him for the better. He seems a very clever, reactive person who is keen to improve and change.
  6. Transfer Talk Topic

Is that referencing the story, in the Sun, on the BBC gossip page? "Chelsea will demand at least £80m if they are to sell 25-year-old midfielder Eden Hazard this summer." Doesn't seem like anything to get worked up about - that kind of money should be what we are hoping for IF we sell him. The Van Persie rumour is also below one story saying we're facing a transfer embargo, and another, saying we believe we acted lawfully and aren't going to. If that doesn't serve to show that everything on that page is rubbish and the media don't know what they're talking about, I don't know what does!
  7. Official: Cesc Fabregas Departs For Monaco

Cheers for the stats. I've been looking for them but most of my searches were bringing up results for the team or players over the season so far! His passing was terrible, even some of the 3 metre sideways passes he tried didn't come off. He also took at least one free kick (and maybe a corner) after Willian was subbed, and neither beat the first man. I agree with the second bit, when I said he was bypassed, what I meant was he tried to get near the ball, didn't make a challenge/tackle because he wasn't close enough and the spurs players passed it around him, leaving him 15-20 metres behind the play.
  8. Official: Cesc Fabregas Departs For Monaco

I don't post very often, but I'd be really interested to hear what you thought Fab did well on Saturday? I thought his harrying of their midfielders was decent but he got bypassed a few times and when he could have made a difference in possession, his passing, surely his best attribute, was atrocious.
  9. Khobar's Legacy

Very good :) The internet is yours for the rest of the day!
  10. I quite like how it's okay for Olsson to allegedly tell Mourinho to "Shut up and f*** off" but not for Mourinho to allegedly respond with the Micky Mouse comment, and how he is "escaping action" for being confronted by two angry players!
  11. Samuel Eto'o

I was going to write a list of all the players who score fairly regularly, then I remembered the defenders and decided against it. It would probably be easier to write a list of those not expected to score a few this season!
  12. Samuel Eto'o

Does it matter who scores goals for us? I think the importance of a "30 goal a season" striker is vastly overrated, also what happens when the goal machine hits a rocky patch? I'd rather the goals came from the whole team, and thankfully we've got plenty of players who find the back of the net regularly enough for it not to matter who scores.
  13. Personally, I thought he'd done quite well so far at the Euro's.Looked lively against Italy and had a couple of chances, then scored two against Ireland. He didn't really see too much of the ball against Croatia, but they defended heroically for 75 minutes and only conceded once they were knackered (and Torres was off)! Hopefully he'll get some more game time and goals should Spain progress, then a nice productive pre-season preceding the campaign where he scores a record number of Premier League, FA cup, Carling Cup (can't remember what it's sponsored by now...) and Champions League goals. The alcohol must be affecting my optmism...!
  14. Victor Moses (On Loan: 2013-2014)

I know quite a few people didn't like him, but surely none of them would have wished that on the poor lad!
  15. Non Chelsea: Premier League

Back in the off-season last year, there was a change in the rules regarding fielding a 'weaker' team. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14166038 Still think we'll do them on Saturday, they should have used the Fulham game to carry on their momentum, instead they rested players and it backfired!
  16. Didier Drogba

Chelsea said they cannot pin down where and when Ivory Coast international Drogba became infected. He was already feeling unwell before flying to Africa to watch his country take on Burundi on 9 October. A fever then ruled him out of the 0-0 Premier League draw at Aston Villa on 16 October and the following week's Champions League trip to Spartak Moscow. Drogba has played four times for the Blues since then but has not scored from open play. Having finally diagnosed the problem, Chelsea have insisted the striker will be firing on all cylinders within days. "The course of medication he is on now will clear it up in three days," a club spokesman commented. "This type of malaria will not come back. "It can lie dormant in the body for a long time. He is safe to play with malaria. "When he first fell ill, we treated him symptomatically. He had a virus and it has come up and gone down, and then come up again. "We ran tests on all the tropical diseases and viruses but because it was dormant, there was not enough parasitic activity in his blood to pick up malaria in the initial tests. "You re-test and re-test and when the results came back last night the parasitic activity in his blood had reached a level where it showed up." That gives the impression the medical staff couldn't really do a lot about it until it showed up in test results. In my opinion our medical staff / facilities are some of the best around, all this talk of it being the medical staffs fault if a player doesn't come back when expected etc. doesn't really ring true with me as there can always be setbacks and unexpected complications which makes it hard to pin a recovery date on any illness / injury.
  17. Non Chelsea: Premier League

Just watching the guy on MOTD...he looks a quality buy for spurs, can't believe they got him for 8 Million!!
  18. Non Chelsea: Premier League

Would have been nice for Arsenal to lose that one, after watching MOTD, they easily could have!
  19. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Let's have a look Doesn't look like it, though they weren't too hot before he signed...
  20. John Terry

I'm glad he's staying, but why increase his wages so much? Surely JT knows that Ballack is only on £130k a week because he had no transfer fee and Sheva is on the same because his mate just happens to be RA. James is right it is obscene money and I don't see how Chelsea is going to be able to support itself financially in the next few years, especially when three of our players (once JT signs) are the highest earners per week in the Premiership (£410k between JT, Ballack and Sheva). Self sufficiency will be great for Chelsea, but can anyone actually see it in the near future?
  21. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Thanks Flinkers, I didn't even bother checking the official Premier League site! The lads are doing great, sounds like we have some great talent in the youth set up.
  22. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Anybody know where I can find league information...tables, fixtures etc. of the youth setup? having a hard time finding any! thanks
