I've never been the biggest fan of international competition qualifiers. It is really annoying when our top players are injured on international duty!!

Kante apparently suffered a hamstring injury in the warm up for France's qualifier this evening. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50019266 Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Who would be your second choice Ham? Assuming SFL is your first, of course. -

There is something odd about it, isn't there? Not sure if you've opined already, and apologies if I've missed it but, who are you fancying to be our next manager? -

Although Lampard may not have much management experience behind him, I'd be happy with him as our manager. No denying he's not Chelsea through and through, of Jody comes back with him that makes two, Cech I'd back and it looks like Maka will be too, not a bad "Chelsea Management Committee" if they can keep ego out of it, which I think they will, it could be the start of something fantastic. Second choice, Mourinho, still love the guy, certainly don't think he's finished at the top level and his second time here and time at Man U will have changed him for the better. He seems a very clever, reactive person who is keen to improve and change. -
Is that referencing the story, in the Sun, on the BBC gossip page? "Chelsea will demand at least £80m if they are to sell 25-year-old midfielder Eden Hazard this summer." Doesn't seem like anything to get worked up about - that kind of money should be what we are hoping for IF we sell him. The Van Persie rumour is also below one story saying we're facing a transfer embargo, and another, saying we believe we acted lawfully and aren't going to. If that doesn't serve to show that everything on that page is rubbish and the media don't know what they're talking about, I don't know what does!

Official: Cesc Fabregas Departs For Monaco

Cheers for the stats. I've been looking for them but most of my searches were bringing up results for the team or players over the season so far! His passing was terrible, even some of the 3 metre sideways passes he tried didn't come off. He also took at least one free kick (and maybe a corner) after Willian was subbed, and neither beat the first man. I agree with the second bit, when I said he was bypassed, what I meant was he tried to get near the ball, didn't make a challenge/tackle because he wasn't close enough and the spurs players passed it around him, leaving him 15-20 metres behind the play. -

I don't post very often, but I'd be really interested to hear what you thought Fab did well on Saturday? I thought his harrying of their midfielders was decent but he got bypassed a few times and when he could have made a difference in possession, his passing, surely his best attribute, was atrocious. -
Very good :) The internet is yours for the rest of the day!

Jose Mourinho Sacked For The Second Time by Chelsea. Joins Manchester United. And now sacked by them too!
Dale86 replied to cc1173's topic in General Football
I quite like how it's okay for Olsson to allegedly tell Mourinho to "Shut up and f*** off" but not for Mourinho to allegedly respond with the Micky Mouse comment, and how he is "escaping action" for being confronted by two angry players! -
I was going to write a list of all the players who score fairly regularly, then I remembered the defenders and decided against it. It would probably be easier to write a list of those not expected to score a few this season!
-
Does it matter who scores goals for us? I think the importance of a "30 goal a season" striker is vastly overrated, also what happens when the goal machine hits a rocky patch? I'd rather the goals came from the whole team, and thankfully we've got plenty of players who find the back of the net regularly enough for it not to matter who scores.

Personally, I thought he'd done quite well so far at the Euro's.Looked lively against Italy and had a couple of chances, then scored two against Ireland. He didn't really see too much of the ball against Croatia, but they defended heroically for 75 minutes and only conceded once they were knackered (and Torres was off)! Hopefully he'll get some more game time and goals should Spain progress, then a nice productive pre-season preceding the campaign where he scores a record number of Premier League, FA cup, Carling Cup (can't remember what it's sponsored by now...) and Champions League goals. The alcohol must be affecting my optmism...!

I know quite a few people didn't like him, but surely none of them would have wished that on the poor lad!

Back in the off-season last year, there was a change in the rules regarding fielding a 'weaker' team. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14166038 Still think we'll do them on Saturday, they should have used the Fulham game to carry on their momentum, instead they rested players and it backfired!
