He's just not good enough..... bit above "average" for his "type" of player... being kind.... will not improve or ease into a more mellow veteran and influence games as he ages. Watch Carroll or the guy at Palace....same level....make a living good enough....carry a Title winning/challenging side good enough?..... Brings little to the team and not a player to build a foundation on. Joins the long list of "Great Goal Machine" hopes......... Yeah, that was a golden opportunity. Wasted. Still, he is very bad at winning long balls and always was. We need to try and play more through balls to him and see what happens. He is constantatly aksing for those pointing fingers in the spaces, but it’s also that we don’t have too many players capable playing those balls from deep midfield. I’d still give him a chance until the end of the season with the tactics as per my above post.
