This is what I mean when I say I can't understand what people see in Havertz. They speak about technique, skill, awareness etc but then come match day, this is the reality. Seriously, what is that? What was he trying to do? This isn’t the first time he’s done that. I remember the West Spam match last season - just before he got clattered by Zouma (should have been a penalty) he held on to the ball for too long nearing the keeper. And I’m sure there has been a few others occasions too

So Chilwell has a deficiency in the fact that he can't attack the opposition like a winger? Then surely(by my logic) a wingback can attack the opposition but is deficient as a full back?.If wingbacks can defend like fullbacks, and attack like wingers then all we need are wingbacks?. I know it's a bit more complicated than that, maybe needs a discussion in a different thread.

Another of the 'Christ almighty who signed him'? brigade. It's pretty difficult not to arrive at that conclusion. Making a clear pass like that doesn't require another 200 games of experience; you're either a player who does it just off natural instinct or you do what Havertz did. That was the quintessential Havertz performance against Everton. Just nothing.

Kudos to him for that.
