Plus, he can't play in his preferred position of a centrally attacking midfielder as that's reserved for Lallana. Mainly tried on the right side which is not his best position. At least that's how I saw it, and 4/5 others I know of saw it (and everyone else reacted as if that happened). It was the highlight of the afternoon and the only topic of discussion in the half-time. You are right on other errors as well from what I remember - haxhia coming on as a sub later, whistle being blown earlier and the shape. Did Haxhia's news ever came on the official club channels? Surprised to see him today. It might be that he will be released at the end of the season. To be fair, Blackman was named on the teamsheet. Van Aanholt is back at Cobham. He came over to meet Brendan in the second half and the pair embraced each other quite warmly. Brendan asked him about his loan experience at Newcastle and Van Aanholt had only good things to say. It also appeared that Brendan had watched a couple of his games(probably the Swansea or Watford one) keenly as he was discussing some finer details with him.Disappointed to lose a two goal lead as I thought we had a good number of chances to win the match. Sala must have had at least 9-10 shots in the game. He had a very good first half. Sampayo I thought had a solid outing at leftback and Ince was a rock at the back.
