Same old story for Danny Sturridge. He gets in great positions, but can't finish the chances. (Under 21's)

You'd have to lower the price, probably.

But considering the low prices Stoch and Sinclair left at...

Both only had a year left on their contracts and that is part of the reason behind their low fees. Inserting a buy-back clause is very easy in theory but in reality there are only a few cases in which this could be acceptable to both clubs and can be applied successfully.

Yeah but we were not in any big rush to sell them especially Stoch

As I earlier mentioned, he only had a year left on his deal and apparently he was unwilling to sign a contract extension. It was his wish to leave the club as we could not guarantee him a role in the first team, so the club was tied, and had to sell him for the best possible amount, which leaves little or no bargaining tool for the club to demand a buy-back clause in the deal.

Was there any mention of Bertrand being injured? I'm sure he was in the original 18 but then they only had 17 in the squad for the game. He wasn't playing for Forest either.

Still, Stoch is considered one of the hottest prospect at his age. We were reportedly in negotiations with Galatasaray, who we offering only half as much as Fener.

I don't know much about negotiations in football. If they are anything like negotiations in normal jobs, they really shouldn't be so hard.

But of course there aren't many buy-back clauses. It rarely makes sense. And only really for young players that you expect to improve to some amount.

The commentator for FSC said he had a slight knick

It's a lot more complicated than normal jobs. In normal jobs you are contracted indefinitely and have very short termination notice periods. In sports contracts you are contracted for a longer period and there is usually no termination clause, except for what is allowed by the Bosman rule. In normal jobs you can can simply give notice to terminate your contract while you sign a contract with a new company, then join the new company after your notice period (or sometimes buy yourself out), so you only need one agreement - between yourself and the new company. When it comes to football player sales, you need 3 different agreements - between the player and both clubs and between the two clubs.

AFAIK buy-black clauses are inserted into the contracts between the player and the buying club, so it may not be as simple as you think - the player has to agree to it.

Any idea/information on how Sturridge & Mancienne played for England U21s?
