  1. Non Chelsea: Champions League

For all the plaudits Liverpool are getting for their attacking play, they are a defensive shambles.
  2. Chelsea vs Norwich City

No please, anything but that! :(
  3. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

I just noticed this while in the Norwich thread. Perceptually it seems like City have scored more than us, goes to show how the media narrative can influence our perceptions!
  4. Chelsea vs Norwich City

Liverpool beat them 3-0, City 5-0. I think, for once, we will have that relief.
  5. Chelsea vs Norwich City

That doesn't sound comfy. I want a nice walkover, 5-0 kind of thing., game done at HT.
  6. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

The general consensus (and statistics) say he is a flat track bully, so it all lines up nicely for him I think.
  7. Chelsea vs Norwich City

I'll be standing in the front row of MHL, centre, right of the goal. Expecting a goal fest.
  8. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

I need to get to an away game soon. It's been too long.
  9. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

What was the atmosphere like from our supporters?
  10. Chelsea vs Malmo FF

Only if it's an away game on the Wednesday.
  11. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

Liverpool will hurt far far more from that thankfully.

Edouard Edouard Mendy, Edouard Mendy in GOOOOOOAAAAAAAL! (to the tune of Don't You Want Me).
  13. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

The platform we have now given ourselves for the next 3 games, being top, is absolutely perfect. Norwich, Newcastle, Burnley ahead. That should be 9/9 even WITH how shaky we have been at times recently. Plus we play before or at the same time as our 2 main rivals except for the 3rd week when City go to Old Trafford at lunchtime.

    I LOVE YOU MENDY

Brentford deserve more bookings. Typical. Just as everyone here predicted.

Just learned that Christensen's head coach when he played for the Danish U16, U17 and U19 team was Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager.

Lukaku + Werner hasn't been played enough, definitely need to try it again, especially with how open Brentford play.
  19. Poll for the top 10 best ever non-chelsea club teams: vote!

Pep's Barcelona are over-rated, pass it to deathers. Perhaps I can't see passed our rivalry with them in that era. Madrid's 4 CLs in 5 seasons is an astonishing achievement considering no team in the CL Era had retained it until then.
  20. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

Oh God, of course. This game has all of the makings of those god forsaken Loftus Road games.
  21. Brentford 0 Chelsea 1

I worded it confusingly, but I meant that Chelsea were playing at the same time as I was at Griffin Park watching Brentford play a league game (my Sunday league team organised it as a day out for us, Kevin O'Connor had played for us in his youth). It was around October-December 2002-2004. My abiding memory of the Brentford game was that I keeping an eye on/worrying on the Chelsea score and that Geremi had scored. Mobile internet was not ubiquitous yet, so I assume I had phoned/texted someone to update me or my Dad brought the portable radio with him. Perhaps I only found out on the car radio on the way home.

It's funny reading online comments from fans of clubs claiming they would stop supporting Arsenal, Munich, Lazio, Liverpool etc. if they were brought by Saudis, Qataris, UAE etc. It's easy to say from their moral high ground isn't it.
  23. Stamford Bridge Upgrades

https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/04/23/general-admission-season-ticket-and-matchday-pricing-frozen?cardIndex=0-2 "Rail seating installed A further upgrade to Stamford Bridge that we are pleased to announce is the installation of rail seating in the Matthew Harding Lower and Shed End Upper and Lower tiers. This change, which will be ready for the 2021/22 season subject to approval by the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) and its Safety Advisory Group (SAG), will enhance supporter safety by replacing the current seats in those sections of the stadium. The decision is the result of many months of consultation with the SGSA and Hammersmith and Fulham Council, as well as work with independent architects to find the optimum solution for Stamford Bridge. While the change will result in a loss of just over 500 seats in the areas concerned, we have decided to act now in order to be ready and prepared for any future government decision to introduce safe standing in Premier League stadia. Season ticket holders who wish to move seats from these areas will be able to make an application when the renewal period opens. Information on this renewal period will be communicated to season ticket holders over the coming weeks. We are excited to welcome you back to live football at a loud and improved Stamford Bridge next season!" "Introducing Westview Welcome to Westview, the newly renovated West Stand Upper at Stamford Bridge, which following consultations with supporters will be significantly upgraded ahead of next season. The biggest development to the West Stand since 2001, Westview will be part of our hospitality offering and will include a complete refurbishment of the concourse in the upper tier, with two new 360 degree bars and a new food court offering improved range and quality of food and drink, as well as views across London. In the stand, the matchday experience will be enhanced by three new big screens which will be installed to ensure all seat locations can view the screen content for the first time, and all seats will be replaced with brand new, padded seating. We have also installed a wheelchair accessible platform with four wheelchair and personal assistant places. These changes are in line with the feedback we received from season ticket holders. We will be rewarding season ticket holders in the West Stand Upper by holding the current price they pay for next season to try out the new facilities. A new pricing model will be adopted from 2022/23 onwards, with an account manager on hand to answer any queries and provide support to season ticket holders. There is no commitment to take up their seats the following season when prices will increase, and they will have the option of moving within the stand or to different parts of the stadium. Season ticket holders will be personally contacted by the club in the coming weeks to discuss the options for their seat."

The only fixture of ours against QPR I've been to was the 3-1 "friendly" defeat at Loftus Road in the Ranieri Era, when their fans decided to celebrate Bart Simpson style. They scarred me for life (I was only 10!) and I was unlucky enough see similar scenes 5 years later when Fulham beat us at Craven Cottage. My memory from my only game at Griffin Park was that Geremi scored the same day, but I can't remember if it was against us or for us.
