A clever move by the club, as it would certainly (if true) reduce any punishment we will receive. What the club is implying is that Cole's agent made the first move which means three things: 1) Arsenal will be more likely to sell Cole if he did instigate the meeting as I'm sure even Arsenal fans couldn't support a player who wanted to join their rivals 2) It will probably lower his asking price 3)It would explain why his agent has continuously denied it took place and Cole said nothing, as they were the ones to blame. Kenyon always refused to confirm/deny the story. If it is true, I think we could expect a hefty fine, Cole a small fine and his agent probably stripped of his license. Plus it would make a summer move for Cole a real possibility.
