  1. Well I have heard rumours psg are still sniffing around oscar. Dont think jose was impressed with his alarming drop in form second half of the season too. Saving himself for the world cup maybe? We would get a large fee for him.

  2. Would be a very naive decision by the club to gamble on getting kroos on a free next summer if that is indeed a plan. On a free every top club in Europe will be in for him. Would rather pay 15-20million for him now and not sign tiago or pogba. I get the impression with pogba he is one of those players who will be transfer saga prone every summer.

  3. Can I ask why people are referencing Kroos as potentially joining chelsea?

I dont recall seeing any stories or rumours linking him with us at all? Happy to be stood corrected though.

Shaw looks like.joining united now, and for 30million he can do. Way overpriced for an 18 year old who has had one good season at the top level.

  4. I totally get that our first choice three behind the striker is hazard - oscar - willian and on current form rightly so. Mata close behind. I would like to make two points if I may:

1 - am I the only one who hasnt seen anything from schurrle to understand why he is above kdb in the pecking order, looked very averaged everytime he has played for us.

2 - am I the only person who cannot understand why we have any interest in Rooney? He is 28 which goes against our recent buying trend, he would require astronomical wages, he wont get any better and most importantly I dont see how he fits in our system. He likes to drop deep thereby getting in oscars way. Surely we are crying out for someone who will sit in the 6 yard box and poke home everything that comes his way/ play off the last defender and has lightning pace for counter attacks. Neither of which I have seen rooney do. Not saying he isn't quality, but how about getting the type of player we need. Think Etoo of five years ago before he got old and slow.

  5. Just read a Daily Express article saying Real are in for Mata as a replacement for Di Maria who is off to United, Arsenal and Monaco.

I stopped reading it when the author stated we are looking for £16.5 million for Mata. £16.5 million.

    Seriously, £16.5 million.

  6. This shouldn't affect our playing ambitions for this season, we would only have signed maybe 1 player in January anyway, and noone superb as they would all be CL cup-tied. Nextr season could be more of a worry, when you consider Man City will definately strengthen again, as will United and probably Liverpool. Plus then Drogs, Ballack, Deco, Lamps, Carvalho will be around the 32-33 mark.

It also means it will effecitively be Summer 2011 before we can properly rebuild our squad again as we would never really be able to buy quality players in a January transfer window. Better hope Arnesen has some gems tucked away at Cobham.

  7. To Hanuma, noone, as far as I could see, has stated Drogba is only a target man. I certainly didn't if you were aiming that at me. I stated that a target man, is mainly how we use him.

To chelseamojo, Drogba's first two seasons weren't exactly electrifying. It was his third season where he was world class. I'm sure there are a number of strikers who could come over and have a world class season within 3 years. In terms of first season impact, Crespo had a much better goals to games started ratio.

  8. Mate, we've been a long ball side for the last two seasons. Like it or not, it is fact. I would like to know what reason you credit the world with giving us the label as a boring side to watch?

Drogba may not only be a target man, but that's what we bloody use him as. Also my reason why he needs to go if we're truly gonna change our style of play. It would be too tempting for 100 and JT to continue lumping 60 yard balls up to him to bring down.

  9. Not sure it is wonderful. He won't fit into a new Brazil-style way of playing, he moans a lot and is a Mourinho man. He's undoubtedly world class and a great target man, but I don't know if we will need a target man in our new system under Scolari. Portugal don't play with one, and Brazil didn't.

Certainly he will have to learn to shut his mouth a lot more if he stays.

  10. To be honest, as good as he can be when he wants to, the sending off was the final straw for me. Too many times he acts like a 5 year old in a world class footballers body. No one is irreplaceable, ask Fergie. He sold a 30 goal a season striker and hasn't done too badly since.

His petulance is giving us the same bad press I thought we would lose once Jose had left. He is very much a Jose player, and he should be sold, for a lot of money sooner rather than later.

  11. I'm happy Drogba is staying, but how can we hope to break even when we throw £100k+ a week deals at anyone who has a good half season for us?? Don't get me wrong, if anyone deserves a better deal based on form this season its Didier, but still.

  12. I'd have to say if it is £5million plus Gallas, well thats a good bit of business by old PK. The Gooners originally wanted between £20-30 mill depending on who you believe, and a player on his last year of contract, no matter how good he is, is not worth at least £15 million.
