Oh god, the comments. As if it isn't enough to appear a precious little flower by putting on a show that what Diego Costa does deeply offends you and everything you stand for, these people are actually up in arms when they see even the slightest defense of the man, no matter how level-headed it be. If that doesn't convince you the people who get involved in these sorts of arguments aren't worth getting involved with in any kind of discussion, I don't know what will. I don't really understand how you can put so much time and effort into being angry at something so insignificant

Yeah, maybe I'm completely out of the loop on the general opinion of Oscar, but in the current market how can he not be valued at least 50% more than the amount we paid for him? He hasn't flopped or regressed from the player we paid a pretty fair amount for. Any report that values him as low as £9m is about as obvious as fabricated bullshit comes David Luiz sold for £50 million (I might just end every post about a player I feel being undervalued on this. ...maybe every post I make on any subject, actually)

I can't believe I legitimately just thought to myself "well Terry would've got the ball if Berahino's ankle didn't land in the way". I'm off to bed.

    well this is hilarious
  5. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

Mikel lost Gerrard for the goal but other than that has had a solid game, particularly in possession
  6. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

Hazard looking like one of the players who only returned to training on Friday
  7. Chelsea 1 Crystal Palace 0

Losing at home to Liverpool even when it means nothing for us would be horrible. But anything that might scupper United's fourth place finish again is something I can get behind.

Would hate if we ever tried to defend a free kick like that. It's not defending, it's trying to be cheeky

I think Ramires simply doesn't fit in a side that's trying to play the way we do now. In our ruthlessly effective and physical sides between 2004-2012, he'd have been / was a fantastic option. In sides whose attacking dictators have been Mata, Hazard and Fabregas, he can't operate on their level. Still has a place if we are looking to continue playing the rather awkward defensive style we have been.

Turning the screw but with greasy hands rather than a power drill

Last time I criticised a player on here it was Fabregas right before he scored the winner at qpr. You're welcome.

Honestly think Drogba is being picked ahead of youth / Cuadrado purely for his defensive ability at set pieces. We can't exert pressure if every move breaks down the moment he joins play. Mourinho can't believe that a single player on the bench - even midfielders and defenders - would be any worse playing up front.

If they'd started it better and ended it better and maybe also done a little better in the middle then they could have.
  14. Arsenal 0 Chelsea 0

even more baffling considering when the votes were taken Fabregas hadn't even fully slumped yet, and Coutinho wasn't yet into that little run of scoring goals that seems to be the only reason he was nominated for anything

I doubt they'll overrun us at times in the way that Man United did, as I don't think they play with the same tempo and width. If we keep it tight in the middle we could easily frustrate them all game long. I don't think our gameplan in terms of attacking was flawless last week. We could very easily have created nothing at all. I'd like to see Willian back if possible as he gives a lot more when we play a counter attack. Would understand if he plays a defensive midfield, but would prefer Fabregas and Matic deep, with Ramires maybe out on the right, rather than anything with Zouma - he offers nothing at all in build-up play, and Arsenal only have one big forward player who Terry and Cahill should be sufficient enough to cope with. A no-nonsense central defender in midfield should be for special cases (like Fellaini) or when we have no other options. We do have options and Arsenal have nothing out-of-the-ordinary for us to deal with.
