  2. Michael Essien

The FA can confirm that Michael Essien will not be subject to further disciplinary action in relation to an incident involving Bolton's Tal Ben Haim. http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/Ne...sien18Oct05.htm
  3. Michael Essien

Sporting Life is saying that the FA has decided NOT to ban Essien. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...l&TEAMHD=soccer You heard it here first!
  4. Michael Essien

Good points Washington. The press will never change until they bring us down. And even if that were to happen, they would just focus on another team. I agree that they are making quite a bit of noise on this topic. However, I feel that some of the noise is warranted (some). It was a reckless, clinical challenge and it deserves a 1-2 match ban. If the boots were on an oppoenent's feet, we'd be calling for his head. A 3 match ban is a little too much.
  5. Didier Drogba

As I have said before, it is better to be lucky than good.
  6. Michael Essien

He will probably catch a match or two in the reserves before coming into the full side. Jose won't rush him. He needs to learn the system and the players. He will need a couple weeks of training to get acclimated to the pace of play and increase his fitness at a minimum. Throw on a week or two on the bench just to show the guy that he has to earn his place on the pitch. I don't think we'll see Essien until he subs on against Tottenham (at the earliest). I would wager a start against Sunderland at the Bridge.
  7. Didier Drogba

I would be worried if he left with that steaming pile of sloppy seconds. Who knows where she’s been. STDs of all sorts, scabies, lice, warts…..he might get gangrene and lose a leg. His bodyguards are letting him down.
  8. Didier Drogba

I'm right there with you Bazza. I've also be a huge Drogba critic. Two well earned hard fought goals. Hopefully this will continue.
  9. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by Shozboz...but Essien should not go on strike , he has signed a contract to play and therefore he should.... id="quote"> id="quote">Where we would be now if Makelele didn't go on a "mini-strike" and demand his transfer from Real? And look at how he turned out. If a strike is what it will take to make Aulas realize that he must come back to reality and accept the already ridiculous 20-odd-million offer - the so be it! Essien has realized that Aulas is a child and is trying to communicate on his level by striking.
  10. Michael Essien

I think everyone is being a little too hard on Aulas. He’s not arrogant. It's just that he's at the center of the Universe and he deserves our respect. It’s his world and we're just squirrels trying to get a nut.
  11. Didier Drogba

quote:Originally posted by duff17Did you see his goal Vs Milan? Pure magic!!! That is a sign of things to come. Also nowonder the guy is low on confidence if all the fans keep slagging him off! Lets get behind him like we did on Crespo's return. id="quote"> id="quote">Pure magic my a*se. He got very lucky. Watch the goal again. He beat the first defender and then pushed the ball directly at the second defender's leg and it took a lucky bouce forward and he shot. The third defender was late in support and the keeper was in shock and was out of position. I've watched goal about 20 times and as much as I would like to attribute it to skill, it wasn't. I will admit that he did finish the ball well, but everything else was luck. I do hope his luck continues as it's better to be lucky than good.
  12. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by Harry Sideras> Fergie paid £28m for Veron. So let's not be too hasty in claiming that he "isn't dumb enough". SAF or PK? id="quote"> id="quote">Sir Red Face approves the purchases for ManU. I find it hard to believe that he would have let Kenyon buy anything he didn't want. I pretty much cannot imagine anyone doing anything up there without Fergie's permission and I am sure he knew the price well in advance. Step out of line and you're thrown to the curb (see Stam as the watershed).
  13. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by Bridgejunky....What is for sure is that Fergie isn't dumb enough to pay even as much as £20m for Essien nevermind the £36m-£38m that Aulas wants. id="quote"> id="quote">Fergie paid £28m for Veron. So let's not be too hasty in claiming that he "isn't dumb enough".
  14. Didier Drogba

quote:Originally posted by Michael Tucker..... If Real were prepared to do a direct swap (Drogba for Owen)... id="quote"> id="quote">How about a direct swap for Essien and then we buy Owen for 10m-12m! Surely a return to France would suite Drogba and his clown shoes. You mentioned that you'll give him one more season to show. I admire your patience. I'm not too sure that I'll be able to last one more match.

Thanks Kazimir. I saw the other thread. I approved this one since it was ChelseaFan3's first post.
