  1. QPR 0 Chelsea 1

Would be vintage of QPR to turn up, only game they turn up for every season. We'll probably go down to 10 men somehow as well. I think it would be a safe option for Mourinho to play with Oscar but I'd be bold and play Willian, Hazard, and Cuadrado behind Remy. I think Cuadrado deserves a chance from the start especially given Oscar's poor form. Wouldn't be the end of the world to see Ivanovic dropped/rested for Filipe as well, and move Dave to right back but that's probably too much to ask from Mourinho.
  2. QPR 0 Chelsea 1

This normally being the only game QPR turn up for, combined with the fact that they are battling to stay up, makes this a tough one. However, I think it being away suits us a bit more in a strange way, should allow us more space. I think it'd be a safe move starting Oscar but his recent form hardly warrants a place in the side. I'd be be bold and start Cuadrado, Willian and Hazard behind Remy. All interchanging.
  3. Chelsea 2 Stoke City 1

Mikel definitely divides opinion. I think the polarization in opinion with him over the years demonstrates more than anything, that he’s been terribly inconsistent. I go through periods with Mikel where I begin to like him, he’ll go through a good patch and I see the benefits of him sitting in front of our back four. Mikel on form is a good player, breaks up play, protects our back four, and is surprisingly very composed on the ball, which looks good when he’s put under pressure. But if you look at his performances over the years, he’s never played consistently well. It’s evident, even during a match, I’ve seen Mikel have a half or 30 mins where he’s looked the best player on the pitch, but then he’ll go and lose control of things in the second half. He’s struggles to impose himself not just consistently over long periods of the season, but during whole matches as well. Yes, at times, he does a lot that goes unnoticed but the best in that position impose themselves on games and are a consistent presence in that area of the pitch throughout. I think Mikel lacks that presence. Perhaps, in other words you could say they do it well enough to be noticed….to claim recognition. Like Makélélé (the master) and Matic last season until around Xmas time this season. Yes, Mikel has been part of some big games for us over the years and a useful, experienced, squad player definitely. For situations like the present, I think he’s definitely a useful player that can be utilized often in the remaining games, whether it be as a starter or coming on as sub. However, I think he’s in the company of Zola, Drogba, and Cech, as the only foreign players to make over 300 appearances for us. And his general inconsistency, high wages, do they warrant more years at the club? I don’t know. I can see people’s point about him remaining a useful squad player but with the rise of some promising youngsters in that position (who I’d like to see get more game time which Mikel would only get in the way of), and the need for us (I feel) to spend big and bring in another player for the pivot, perhaps suggest Mikel’s days should be numbered. It does however amaze me that he’s still only 27.
  4. Gianfranco Zola

Next Sunday the legendary and probably Chelsea’s best player of all time will return to the Bridge. As well as welcoming Zola back to Stamford Bridge I will also welcome the return of Didier Drogba back from his three match ban. Anelka is in the form of his life and is very much top of the race for the golden boot with 13 goals, with second place being Robinho 5 goals behind. However you could argue the majority of Anelka’s goals seem to come away from home where we get more space and can hit teams on the break. While at home and in the big games Anelka goes missing for me especially when teams come to defend or get their tactics spot on. We often run out of ideas and end up kicking the ball long. Now with Anelka at front this is not going to work. Anelka’s best attribute is not his physical presence it’s staying on the last man using his pace to get in behind. As many of you would probably agree we need a plan B. Drogba over the years has probably won the game single handily more than any over player. In 2005 the community shield against Arsenal Drogba was too much for the Arsenal defence especially Senderos scoring 2 goals, we went on to win 2-1. In the 2005-06 season who could ever forget the 4-1 win at Anfield? Drogba played a part in every goal and was man of the match that game. Also another game against Liverpool this time a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge where Drogba scored a 25 yarder taking it on his chest then turning and hitting it with his left foot. 33 goals in the 2006-07 season making him the top scorer in the Premier League the first player since Kerry Dixon to score 30 goals in a season for Chelsea. Another 2 goals against Arsenal in the league cup final and don’t tell me you have forgotten his winning goal against Man United in the FA Cup. Didier defiantly performed for us in the big games and I could still go on about how many times he saved us in recent seasons. This season he has yet to be fully fit and is just coming back from a three match ban. We do not need a new striker…. if Didier can keep fit he can give us that plan B we so desperately need. Chelsea needs to hold onto Didier if we don’t… we will be losing a very special player.
  5. Didier Drogba

If Drogba is here next season I will actually eat my hat or something
  6. Injury News

Is Sheva injured? Seeing as he wasn't in the squad for the Newcastle game.
  7. Salomon Kalou

Kalou needs to work on his decision making and not losing the ball so often if he works on that he can be a great for us although it would be good to give sinclair more of a chance
  8. Didier Drogba

we need a replacement in january bring in anelka!
  9. Didier Drogba

id probally say no there's no1 better than him at the moment in his postion and who would we get to replace him? he couldnt be replaced
  10. Didier Drogba

if he does leave it would be a loss but I think we could cope without him if we brought in a decent striker arsenal seemed to cope without henry if we win the champions league I see him staying losing Lampard would be a different story
