  1. Chelsea 2 Everton 0

    Yep. Not a doubt.
  2. Chelsea Football Club has today completed the signing of Ross Barkley from Everton. The 24-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract and will wear the number 8 shirt. Upon signing for the Premier League champions, Barkley said: ‘I'm overwhelmed, I'm looking forward to it and I'm really excited to get started. ‘To be given a fresh start at a new club like Chelsea, it's unbelievable for me. I'm looking forward to continuing where I left off at the end of last season and hoping to improve and add more goals to my game.’ Club director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘Ross is a player we have long admired and are certain he will prove to be an important player for Chelsea. He possesses outstanding technical and physical attributes, matched with good experience of the Premier League and a strong desire to succeed at the highest level. We welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him in action.’ Barkley arrives with a wealth of experience for a player so young, having already made 150 Premier League appearances for Everton, as well as being named in England squads for both the World Cup and European Championships. His versatility ensures he can play just behind the striker, in a deeper midfield role or in an advanced wide position, with his ability to get on the ball and create chances one of the player’s biggest strengths. A hamstring injury at the beginning of the current campaign has kept him out since August, which means he is eligible to play for the Blues in all four competitions.

Just thought I'd mention that while people seem preoccupied by how Liverpool have become such a poor side, that's not our team's problem, nor Tuchel's. You can only play what's put in front of you. I'll take the 3 Points, and not be in the slightest bit embarrassed.
  4. Claude Makelele

Sorry, but I think that this last comment is very harsh. No, they're not Lamps/Ballack/Essien, but then very few midfields were/are. Maka and Kante are simply different players, playing in different eras. Both good, but in different ways.
  5. Claude Makelele

    Nor me.
  6. Chelsea 0 Manchester United 0

Yep. And my guess is that we will be, at least until the end of the season.
  7. Liverpool 0 Chelsea 1

Tuchel has basically sorted out our defence, and the midfield is looking better (not perfect certainly, but definitely better). Apart from Giroud, the forwards/wingers are still a work in progress (and injuries haven't helped). It seems to me that the whole thing needs time to click into gear.
  8. Chelsea 0 Manchester United 0

No, it really isn't. That would be silly, imo. It's about the player, not his father, or what his father says, surely?
  9. Who will be the next Chelsea boss?
  10. Transfer Talk Topic

What is it with you? No, it doesn't mean either of your ridiculous contrivances. You're wasting time - yours and mine. Now get over it, and move on, for goodness sake .

Just like I didn't say that you did, did I?
  12. Atletico Madrid 0 Chelsea 1

Me too ..... but I doubt that we'll agree! :)
  13. Atletico Madrid 0 Chelsea 1

I'm sure that there's a Daily Mail 'spot the Havertz' game in there somewhere :).

We're always 'linked' in the press though, aren't we? To pretty much anyone who takes the media's fancy for a headline. And those headlines are always played out on these forums, whether they have any substance, or none. To me, the only thing that matters is who we actually sign. He's not really.
  15. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

We are going to stop this nonsense before it get's out of hand. So move on and talk some football.
  16. Chelsea 0 Manchester United 0

Not sounding the slightest bit paranoid, Mark :)
  17. Official: Frank Lampard Sacked As Chelsea Head Coach

It's fan fantasy though, isn't it? Nobody here knows if Frank fell out with Marina. Nobody. He was sacked, and that's that. Which has nothing to do with Frank. And yes, since you asked, Tuchel isn't doing too bad. Of course, it doesn't 'explain' anything. Guess what (if you haven't worked this out already), the media don't know anymore than you or I do.
  18. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

OFFS, he didn't 'tear him apart', he answered an effing question. If he's going to be offended by that, then he needs to grow up. Surely anyone who actually watched the game would understand why CHO was taken off? No? Must be me then....
  19. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

Just back to this for sec - I don't think that he did say that (about both players). He certainly said it about CHO, but I can't find where he said it about TA. If you have a link, that would be helpful. Cheers.
  20. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

Except that he looked way off the pace, and pretty disinterested tbh. What he did for 'the last 6 games' is irrelevant if he's not showing it in this one - which is the one we were trying to win (I think). And he wasn't. Yes, we needed a goal, but based on what CHO was giving, it surely didn't look like it was going to come from him. Ziyech's performance (not for the first time) was awful, but it has zero to do with CHO. And even less to do with what the coach said about CHO post game.
  21. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

Not based on what he gave the team in this game. Which was very little. Imo, he looked disinterested. According to what I've read, Tammy was injured and wanted to come off. As for CHO: see above. And he certainly didn't 'slate' CHO in the media. He simply answered a direct question, honestly. Shame on him!
  22. Southampton 1 Chelsea 1

Very true. He's become very underrated on here, I'm afraid.
  23. Chelsea 2 Newcastle United 0

This, again! :). The 'the board told him to do it' excuse is as old as the hills on here. It's dragged out by people whenever a decision doesn't meet their particular position.
