the age of postcard humor, kiss me quick hats, benny hill,, dick emery, dads army, wrestling with ken waldon, guessing which window will be on play school, Daleks were made from dustbins,  skippy, flipper, Slade, russian spies "Mr M foot", morning cloud, coursells, tv we rented from Radio Rentals. a radio was called a wireless, milk was delivered in bottles, curley worley's were 2ft long, snickers were marathons, what button to press a or b when using a telephone box, power cuts, watneys red barrel, a part four or party seven, ben shermans, doc martins, stay press trouser.... Oh yes chelsea were about  to be sold down the river by the mears family,

Yes, that was my age too. However, barbaric remains barbaric, and senseless slaughter of the innocent remains just that, and not something to quote for effect. I would have thought that you were above that.

It was tongue in cheek humour of which persons of a certain age will understand

Really? Which 'age' would that be?

As an administrator you should be neutral. Deleting posts you believe are inappropriate is you prerogative, however stating an opinion on the post you deleted encourages further debate.

Being 'neutral' doesn't mean that a mod can't state an opinion just like everyone else on here. End the lecture and move on would be my advice.

Let's hope the Chilwell injury isn't anything too serious and that he'll be ok for the weekend. Don't really want 2 of the back 4 missing, with Silva already likely to miss out.

We still have Alonso and Palmieri as back up though, don't we? And Azpi can slot in there with James playing right back. It's not like we don't have viable options - quite right that (like you) I'd prefer Chilwell to be fit, but we can afford to rest him if needed.

Certainly many do remember that DD flopped in his first year.
Except those that remembered just how many goals he scored while interchanging with Crespo.  He scored faster in his first two years than he did in his "break out" third year (and had a huge number of assists)

This. Thank you Droy, saved me the trouble (again).

There you go again - have a go Ham comes out, have an opinion Ham hides.

No - read it again and I'm sure you'll get it.  TSD's daft stories generate ridicule.

You really do need to stop this nonsense. Ham asked you a question - why don't you do us all a favour, and try answering it?

Willian's last 9 games for Arsenal: 0 goals, 0 assists. That is exactly what he would do here.

2-3 months of nothing but shuttle runs from an attacker and then people would complain about Kante's lack of creativity in match threads.

I don't care! And I doubt that many here do. This is the Ziyech thread - there is a Willian thread if you wish to discuss him (although given that he's now an Arsenal player, I'm not sure why you would!).

Not sure about the names you give. Baker joined when he was very young. However, I think it is now the norm for all of the bigger clubs these days.

Mate, as I said, I picked the names at random from the club list. The question was simply "Are we buying players with the objective of selling them on at a profit, or are we buying them with expectations that they'll end up in our first team squad?" - given where most of these young guys end up, you'd have to guess that it the former.
