the real question is can Frank make progress over, say, the next 18 months or are we hoping for  something that is not possible for whatever reason?...now that is a yes/no question.

Have no real idea - and honestly, neither does anybody else. And anyone who says they do, is kidding you. Guesses? Yes, plenty of those.

The  truth is that if Frank doesn't deliver what Roman wants, then he'll be punted. Until then, it's all guesswork with a couple of fairly obvious agendas thrown in.

Well obviously he does, but that wasn’t my point, my point was that I was and still my surprised Frank didn’t look to have a more experienced number 2 to lean on in the early years of his managerial career. Which, I think is a fair view is it not?

Yes mate, a fair view. Clearly not Frank's view though.

I do worry that Jody wants to be one of the lads a bit too much and is possibly too close to the academy players in the squad - I obviously have not evidence to back this up, it’s just a feeling I have from the little we see of the interactions they have.

I think that people formed opinions about Jody way back when he was on the drink. Fair opinions at the time, because the drink made him a dill. But from what I've seen/heard, he seemed to have sorted himself out, and did a great job at the academy. And I've not heard any different since. Frank had the opportunity to see him first hand at Leeds, and chose to bring him with him. That surely should say something positive, I'd have thought.

Blame Frank or Jody but I don't feel they are a good mix

Based on what exactly? They were a good enough 'mix' at Leeds.

Jody appears not to feature in much.

In what sense? I have to say that I've never particularly liked Morris (back from his playing/drinking days), but he must have done something right/good at Leeds for SFL to want to bring him with him. And from what I've seen, he's always there with the players at training, etc.

Frank may rate Jody or maybe he is not in a position to change things at the minute.

Yes, he may. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Imo, the last part of that sentence is baseless speculation. Frank keeps Jody? Oh it must be that he can't change things. Couldn't possible be that he rates him, could it?

I'd like to see a right horrible bar steward as number 2 giving players hell for sh1te performances.

Maybe that's exactly what he does inside the sheds, and on the training paddock? I don't know that for certain, obviously, but then nobody here (from what I can tell) has any insight as to what goes on, and who talks, etc., in those 2 places. Frank chose to bring Jody with him, and that says a lot to me.

I don't remember fluid and creative.  I recall  3 very drab games against moderate teams, and some real rubbish oppo too.
We haven't fallen from a good or even acceptable level, we have stumbled right through it all.

Of these 11 games you've hi lighted, we won 7 and drew 4.  Lost 0. We scored 25 goals and conceded only 5 in the process. Not up to your standards? Oh well......

I thought it was you accusing others of saying stuff - you should leave them alone.
It is one thing making up spurious facts to support your own ideas, another making up spurious claims by others to shoot down.

Can you just stop it now? You look to pick an argument and then do whatever is necessary to keep it going. Nobody cares, ffs! Enough!

Lol; donkeys and horses are only used metaphorically, Michael. And I didn't even start it. I'm sorry if anyone should take it literally.

Gee, no shit? And as you well know, nobody took it literally, but if this make you feel better, then fine.

Give me till end of the month, and it'll be auf wiedersehen.

Mate, I'll give you until the next pointless post.

If you think you've been sold a donkey, then you're  not exactly changing horse, you're getting rid of an animal who should never have been in the race in the first place.

You don't improve do you? You're only still on here because I saved your arse,  when pretty much everyone else wanted you gone. Why did I do that? Buggered if I know, tbh, but you're wearing very thin. Be careful.

No use signing Rice or Haaland when we don't have a system or the players aren't coached. Hoping for these top players to just get on with it and play themselves is worse than proper coaching and a working system. I would hold back giving Lamps any more players until he figures out a system and actually do some coaching. A proper system and coach can get great output from decent players like Dias, Foden, Jota, even Ndombele and then you have what Lamps is getting out of Werner, Havertz, Ziyech and Chilwell.

I should know better by now, but what makes you think that the players aren't coached? We have coaches coming out of our arses at Cobham, not just Frank. I'd be stunned if they weren't being coached.

I hope so MT. I don't live far from the tallest cliffs in the UK and if either of those two sit down at a Chelsea press conference I'll be buying a one way ticket to my final destination on the Number 12 bus.

Yep, pretty sure that it'd send me over the edge too.....:).
