  1. Didier Drogba

Just seen this pop up on Newsnow, it's an article in the Sunday Telegraph by Stewart Robson, called talking tactics and although he may have a point or two in the bleedin' obvious, it symptomatic of the way stories which have no basis take on a snowball effect, I bring to your attention the second paragraph. "Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry have recently indicated that they may want to move on at some stage." Further down. "Scott Parker and, more recently, Shaun Wright-Phillips have had their progression halted by long spells in Chelsea's reserves." In those two remarks, Robson proves his total and utter ignorance regarding our club, yet Journalists and readers will pick up on it and take them as a given and even add their own spin, I love stories like this because it re-inforces my opinion that hardly anyone within the media has a bloody clue as to what they're talking about regarding our club.

Seems like a good incentive to qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League then.

Alright, I see your two links and trump them with this . Now play spot the differences, you may notice that they posted a link earlier then the Sun. Have you also noticed how just about every single story that followed linked it to The Sun article as though Sheehan had a personal audience with Drogba, so typical of our media. As for the story, who knows, I'd like to see the whole thing and the context in which it was said, and not rely on someone from the British media to mess up a translation, with a dodgy cut and paste so they get a story to match the headline.

Agree with you totally, have just posted same sort of thing on the JT thread. This is the way it's going to be, the idea that the team at the top is always shot at is rubbish, we'll be shot at because we are Chelsea, the fact that we're successful just means they shoot even more. Truth and credibility doesn't come into it. It's all in the headlines, I sometimes wonder if the writer actually comes up with the headline or is that left to someone else, because headlines and articles seldom say the same thing, but no one remembers the article, only the headline. The purpose is to sell papers, so what if it's rubbish, thats not the point, a dig at Chelsea always goes down well. People always enjoy seeing rich people have a bit of grief, no different with football teams, truth doesn't come into it. On the day of our FA Cup final with Aston Villa, the back page of one of the broadsheets showed a picture of the Chelsea players and asked the question, how many of these foreign mercenaries will still be at Chelsea next season, so much for the usual silliness that papers go in for on the day, that was nasty and vindictive, oh and rubbish too. Judging by the stories this week, it should be interesting to see how much further they can go by match day itself.
  5. Ashley Cole

Are they bothering to have a player of the year award, if they are then lets all vote for Abu Agogo, who it so happens is a Chelsea fan, by the sounds of it he was leaping in the air with joy when Drogba headed past them in the final. He's a right back as well.
  6. Michael Essien

The sad thing is, that the damage has been done, the initial story created big headlines, I doubt that this will get as much coverage and be as prominent. Those who lap up all the anti Chelsea stuff will have registered the initial story and trot it out as is necessary in the future without making reference to the follow up, it'll be the same with the Shevchenko stories. Seen it here on the site today with Michael Tucker pointing out the errors of SWP stories, rumours and headlines are far more interesting.

Bloody hell, has anyone seen how they work this out, from the group stage to the final, you're allowed 2 bookings, get a 3rd and your banned for a game, so that's 12 games to get only 2 cards. So get booked in the first 2 group games and then you tread a tightrope till the semi. How it works is 3 cards and a ban, then 5, 7 etc for further bans. I thought it worked on stages so that bookings for the group stage are not carried over to the knockout stage, but that's not the case. JT managed to pick up 3 yellow's in the group stage and nothing since, Joe Cole amazingly picked up 2 in the group stage. Drogba picked up one in the group stage and then against Valencia. For anyone interested here is the link. Article 19 is the bit that applies.
  8. Michael Essien

Was he being tapped up by Millwall.
  9. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Sinclair is up for Championship player of the month. See here
  10. Michael Essien

I thought it was about Tiago and Parker, (you had to be there) Why do people have to go off on one, when somebody doesn't agree that XY or Z are the best player, okay he's your favourite player but it often ends up in rubbishing another player, it has nothing to do with the players and all to do with winning an argument/debate. So you call Bazza an Essien hater, (your opinion of Lampard is hardly enthusiastic) just because he doesn't agree with you, is that a case of your either with us or against us, personally I'll pick the team rather than an individual. As for the National team face off, don't even think about it, England playing against San Marino would make Ireland's win against them look competent.

Lets hope the French can nail Frelot for something Harry, that would help. As for your idea, I'm sure he'd be interested if the rumours of him are true.
  12. Didier Drogba

Sounds to me as though Pierre Frelot has been busy, day before he was quoted by the Daily Star as saying negotiations were ongoing as on the Sky sports site here So he ups the ante today by suggesting this and a Journalist runs the story.

My apologies, I meant Ferreira, did this in the game when watching with my brother as well, sign of getting old.

Kalou, Sinclair and Fernandes run their defence ragged, we were good their defence and Andrew Cole's finishing were rubbish, bet Kiely wished he'd given it a miss tonight.
