  1. Gianfranco Zola

I hope everyone remembers what this is all about. Macclesfield Town are in deep financial poo (technical term) and this is all part of several campaigns to help save the club. Nice to see a few Chelsea badges on that page. :-) The club's official site has more information.

From TOFCFWS Zola to put on his boots again - in Macclesfield! Tuesday, Jan 17, 2006 "Chelsea fans in north-west England will have an unexpected opportunity to see Gianfranco Zola play once more in a local stadium when the Sardinian legend takes part in a fund-raising match at Macclesfield Town" Read the full article.

    > I think the lifetime of the DRM license is just three months 90 days, yes. I don't have a problem with DRM, but in this case they've got it badly wrong. It would be trivial for them to ensure that your license is valid for as long as you are a subscriber. I've yet to see any changes on CTV Online, and I'm not holding my breath, but if there are changes, this would be singularly the best they can make.

The other question this ban raises is, have Uefa now set a precendent for retrospective punishment? I don't think we should react or try and appeal this. There are enough people out there who already think Uefa have some sort of anti-Chelsea agenda going on. For me, I'd like the club to take it and move on, and as many have already said elsewhere this could easily have been worse. One just has to hope that the press and media will be keeping an eye on Uefa's consistency over this matter. I for one won't be holding my breath, though.

And banned for two games. Time to move on now.
  10. Didier Drogba

Yes, kc_blue, you're right. It's Arsenal who haven't played Man Utd at all in the Premiership this season.

    > liverpool and man u have a game in hand Indeed, and Liverpool's game in hand is against Arsenal. Liverpool are yet to play Man Utd at all this season...
  12. Michael Essien

    Finally, an Essien apology.

    > he has a habit of making these tackles I'm assuming, madaboutlfc, that you have evidence to back this up? He has in the past had something of a poor reputation for discipline, but to say two challenges makes this a habit is pushing it a bit. And, seeing as you couldn't heed my warning earlier, the next time you feel the need to resport to name-calling, your post won't make it past the moderators, okay?

Okay, the moderators are getting really bored by dealing with petty slanging matches between Chelsea and Liverpool fans now. Either it stops, or this topic is locked. It's a strange phenomenon to find so many Liverpool fans here given the amount of fans of other rival teams who are regulars here, and it seems to be turning into an excuse to come and bait us. Any more playground behaviour and comments, and this topic is locked. Here endeth the bickering.
  16. Michael Essien

Personally, I think we should take this with good grace and move on. There is obviously a problem here, because one of the excuses for bringing the charges is that the referee didn't see it. Given the number of people here citing replays, I think not a single one of them would be able to agree that the referee was unsighted. Take the suspension and get on with it. Then the next time we see the potentially career-ending tackles we have all seen from Hamman himself, Gerrard, Shearer and Uncle Tom Cobley and all, perhaps someone will take notice. Finally, I hope Uefa also see fit to look into what was a truly shocking performance by the officials on Tuesday. Several newspapers said the same thing, so I'm hoping the media will bring this to the attention of Uefa as much as they have sought to raise the profile of this incident.

Please heed the warning in this topic and think about it before you post, thank you.

If you're a rival fan and are thinking about joining this thread to gloat, don't bother. Go to 606 and do it, because we've had enough playground behaviour on the forums for one week, thanks.

    > Yes it is part of his job, to score goals, to attack, and to defend. He is currently serving the role usually performed by Makelele, his job is to defend. When Makelele gets back in the next week or two, then I might agree with you, but we are still talking about a player who has yet to play a full season for us, so I'll be patient for a while longer.
  22. Michael Essien

Two things: is there some secret society we don't know about? And: who cares if he scores? Is that his job?

I'm so sad. I've almost always wearing something Chelsea. Lapel pin badges on coats and fleeces, half a dozen shirts for work with the crest on, loads of polos and half a dozen strips. Oh dear.
