  1. Transfer Talk Topic

    Didn’t he sell him?
  2. Media / Press

On a similar topic, the press are getting more than excited over Sturridge's goal (a bit of an opportunistic pop at goal rather than a cleverly wrought piece of skill, in my somewhat biased opinion). So why was Hazard's goal vs Pool not a candidate for goal of the month, rather than vs Cardiff?

    Hazard. Who else?
  4. Southampton 0 Chelsea 3

Not so. I have faith in Morata’s ability to disappoint. His goals per match rate was 27% Real, 23% Juve, 57% Real, and now 32% with us. Why the decrease?

    Don’t like it

I can think of a couple

Probably right, and damn it, I'd missed the registration issues - eye off ball, there. Barkley up front seems an option though - let's face it, a plank would be more entertaining that Morata (not saying that Barkley is a plank). Still love to see Ampadu get some first team experience, in retrospect preferably with Luiz, despite having difficulty telling them apart from a distance.

Point taken. No, never had the opportunity. Might look fro one, though. He seems good, if a little head-centric ...

    Well, if it's dreams you're after ...

    This do you?

But you won't get it, Bob, far too much change for a Sarri team. RLC might get a showing, but CHO? Don't see it. Or Emerson. On the subs bench, perhaps ...

Reminds me of SuperMario for some reason - maybe it's the arrogance and wasted talent. If Sarri can prove that his ego exceeds that of Mr P, then maybe, but I'd want some sort of get-out clause such as just a loan deal for the 2nd half of the season. On the other hand, the dressing room seems to have settled nicely. Nope, talked myself out of it.
  13. Taking The Pee Out Of Liverpool (For Khobar)

I did. It was either that or paeons of praise from the press for an opportunistic 'wonder-goal' which, had it missed, would have been written off as youthful enthusiasm by a player trying to get one back on his old employer. Let's hope that there are no more "oh feck" moments after 89 minutes for the rest of the season. Disgruntled.

Please take the mash, Bob; pie will do just fine for me. Provided it isn’t the humble variety.
  15. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

Seriously looking forward to this one, maybe make it (sic) a night to remember

And all the more enjoyable if the impossible happens. Hats, words and lobscouse to be eaten. Hoping for pie n mash ...
  17. Could be, Mark, or could be just a natural reaction after years of Chelsea-bashing from the gutter press. There was plenty criticism when he first arrived re sexism, racism and homophobia, so they will doubtless dust that down if and when he falls from grace. We’re by no means a finished article, but I rather like the direction in which we’re going - things like having a plan B - albeit with a few warts. Let’s hope the promise shown on Wednesday continues today.

Finborough Arms reopens Saturday with a visit from Chopper and Chivers. A beer or two there, then on to the match - and hopefully back for a couple after the match to celebrate - but not counting chickens or tempting date. Just hoping to see Shaquiri repeat today’s imitation of Slippy, and Eden repeat that glorious goal.

Well done, chaps - now for the main event

    Not now

Might get a taste of that if it comes to pens
  23. Insufferable? That’s a word for it - although Mrs Moon might use a stronger expression!
  24. How cynical, Jane, you’ll be hoping Ronaldo gets red carded next ... oh, wait .... ho ho
