Italian media saying our next choice after Alisson is Donarumma. My first choice tbh. Enormous potential and longevity.

I think if Rugani is coming in and starts, Zappacosta also starts. As stated it's a coin toss between Zappacosta and Moses, but I think Rugani will communicate better with Zappacosta and settle better as a result. I can see this being the plan knowing roughly how Sarri sets up: -----------------------------Courtois--------------------------- Zappacosta----Rugani------Azpilicueta---Alonso ---------------------------Jorginho---------------------------- --------------------Kante----------Fabregas------------- ----Willian--------------------------------------------Hazard ----------------------------Morata----------------------------- Of those positions, I think we could look to build on Fabregas and Morata's places in the team - we have options in both positions, but there are probably improvements available. That third Midfield spot in particular would be better in the hands of a box-to-box type of player - RLC/Barkley can do this, but are they good enough?

I wouldn’t necessarily be hugely against selling Hazard, but we need a very big fee and need replacements lined up - I would demand Asensio and a substantial amount of cash myself.

Here's a radical thought (filled with very wishful thinking) - what if we demanded Asensio as part of the deal for Hazard - say £70 Million + Asensio, signed Dembele (Barcelona) to replace Willian and then use the change to get Martial. That'd be us sorted for the future. It'd inevitably hurt us short term, but long term we could be better off, with a really good, dynamic front three. Could also replace Courtois with 19 year old Donarumma, again making a profit. So, lets say.. ----------------------------Donarumma----------------------- Azpilicueta (C)----Rudiger---Christensen---Alonso ---------------------Jorginho------Kante--------------------- ----Dembele--------------Asensio--------------Martial-- ---------------------------------Morata---------------------------

Jorginho, Higuain, Rugani and Golovin.. Would that be a good window? I would say that's dependent on who we sell to pay for it.

Sign Donarumma or Oblak and I certainly won’t lose any sleep about selling Courtois. Alisson I’m really not sure about.

It's partly the position he plays - very, very rare that wingers continue to perform into their 30s - can only really think of a couple and one of them has really adapted to be more of an inside forward. Willian will only have one or two more seasons at the level we're used to, so why not cash in reinvest in a more long term option? In the age of FFP we have to be shrewd. As has been pointed out, the difficult part will be identifying the right options long term in the absence of a DofF or any real coherent structure to the club.

£60m for Willian? Not ideal to sell him to the Mancs, but at Willian's age, that is a superb fee that we can reinvest in a more long term option - Martial for example.

What exactly are our board doing? No news on manager, no news on structure/DoF, no sign of new players. We're at a cross roads at the moment and it's vital we get this right.

Pastore to West Ham for £17.5 Million... Surely that's the sort of deal we should be looking at?
  11. New Stadium Plans

CapCo's Earls Court development seems dead in the water, and a lot of speculation they plan on selling of the site as the value has plummeted. Putting two and two together, but could it be the board is keeping an eye on Earls Court as a more viable development option?

Have you got a link for the temporary visa thing? Can't see it anywhere
  13. Transfer Talk Topic

Quite concerning that. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us put up for sale if the visa doesn’t materialise... I just hope it doesn’t get nasty and he doesn’t convert his shares back to debt and call in his loans. That’ll be curtains for us- unthinkable.

When I watched a couple of seasons back, the four key players in that Monaco team were fairly obviously Silva, Mbappe, Fabinho and Lemar. Fabinho would be useful in a sense he is a defensive minded player, former full-back, good with the ball at his feet but will run all day. I think he’ll do well at Liverpool.
  15. Transfer Talk Topic

Fabinho to Liverpool. Could have been a useful signing for us.
  16. Transfer Talk Topic

    I can see that ^
  17. Transfer Talk Topic

    Ballack linked with DofF position.

Lewandowski would obviously be pretty devastating.Bring in an attack minded central Mid so we end up with a sort of 5-3-2/3-4-3 hybrid. Maybe I'm dreaming here, but Isco or Asensio would be ideal for the link up, so we end up with: ---------------------------------------Courtois------------------------------------- -------------------Azplicueta---David Luiz-----Rudiger----------------- Moses-----------------------------Kante------------------------------Alonso -----------------Asensio/Isco-------------Loftus-Cheek/Cesc-------- ----------------------------------------------Hazard------------------------------- ------------------------------Lewandowski-------------------------------------
  19. Transfer Talk Topic

I’d be fairly content letting him go for a good fee - but not to United!

The Roman getting a visa thing is worth keeping an eye on. The Government is getting quite shirty against allies to the Russian Government such as Roman, recently escalated thanks to the Skripal incident, and given how Roman accumulated much of his wealth, there looms the possibility of restriction of visas, unexplained wealth orders etc. There is potential for the club to be effected beyond all comprehension - for example if Roman decided to convert his shares back to debt and called in the loan.

Ryan Sessegnon should be near the top of the transfer wishlist when the window opens.
  22. Transfer Talk Topic

Pochettino would be mad to come here.
  23. Transfer Talk Topic

Oh don’t get me wrong, Conte isn’t coming out of this looking great either, however how many times have our players gone from scintillating form, to mid-table form, back to competing for the league once the manager is sacked? It’s unacceptable and the fact it has now happened with four or five managers in a row proves that something needs to be done. We also need to take a decision on our standing in football. Do we put our hands in our pockets quite deeply this summer and compete or do we ease off the accelerator and accept slightly lower ambitions?

TBH, if they are good enough it’s even worse because it shows the degree to which they’re prepared to down tools when they have a sulk. We can’t keep allowing that to happen. The vast majority of that squad have been utterly embarrassing this season.

If we’re going to have another season of being mediocre, I’d much rather we be mediocre with our promising youth players getting regular game time. At least that way there’s faint light at the end of the tunnel.
