Just today, Arsenal Supporters Trust had an Q&A session with Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal's CEO, and he practically confirmed that they're not after Cesc, so don't worry. He's coming.
-
Fair enough. Just going by what my Spanish mate was telling me but what you're saying makes sense.
-
ABC.es (basically the spanish BBC) also reporting that Fabregas is close now. http://www.abc.es/deportes/futbol/20140603/abci-cesc-fabregas-chelsea-Mourinho-201406031227.html

Would be delighted if we actually got this done. It almost makes too much sense.
-
I disagree. I see Fab as more of a goal scoring, well rounded midfielder than Isco - Isco wouldn't be able to play in the pivot IMO. Isco is in the mould of Silva, Ozil etc... Don't think I'd associate Fabregas as that type of player. Fabregas at his is more of a Lampard, Ballack, Ramsey etc IMO. But with more finesse than power.
-
Isco isn't in the same mould of Fabregas... Isco is a pure number 10 whilst Fabregas is naturally a number 8. Agree that signing him would be exactly what the doctor ordered though.
-
I would be very surprised if he's here for that long, especially considering he's being given yearly contracts. Regardless, if he did stay for 3 years at least, he wouldn't be starting anymore after next season in my opinion.
-
Fabregas at £30m would be the best signing of the summer. Him and Matic in midfield would be so dominant. Probably won't happen but a man can only dream.
-
Doh - that's just stating the obvious... JT, Lamps and Cech are all leaving very soon. I can see all three not being here the season after next in fact. It's just quite worrying how there isn't really a real, long term leader coming through at the moment.
-
It's quite worrying to see that there is no real leader in the squad left after JT, Lamps and Cech.

Chalobah is more in the mould of Matic than Pogba. Would be the perfect understudy for Matic. Don't think Jose and the club see it that way though with the Tiago rumours (if they hold any truth).
-
If there was one midfielder I would sign to complement Matic in the pivot it would be that Kovacic kid from Inter. Insane player.
-
Haha mate, I meant that we should get rid of him as Flinkers has said above. He's a very frustrating player. He just couldn't marry that technical talent with the serious hard work that would've made him a top class footballer. Real waste of a talent.
-
Yeah, the team is still being built though. The only player that is playing right now that wasn't there during Jose's first stint that would get into an all-Roman era XI would probably be Hazard. The next few seasons when these players mature will dictate whether they're good enough or not. Till then we won't know.

Jose Mourinho Sacked For The Second Time by Chelsea. Joins Manchester United. And now sacked by them too!

Indeed. If we get in a proper creative CM next to Matic who can sit deep, an attacking left back like Shaw who can link up well with Hazard on the left, and if David Luiz stays at the club, against these sort of teams we should be playing more technically gifted players and that starts from the back. A back 6 of: Azpi - Cahill - Luiz - Shaw Creative CM - Matic (sitting) Would do a world of good in our attempts to break down these sort of teams. I really hope it's addressed next season.
