  1. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Joe Cole, Nemanja Matic and Paulo Ferreira were all involved as a Chelsea reserve side beat Ipswich 5-1 at Cobham on Wednesday. Matic played 45 minutes while Cole and Ferreira both completed the entire 90 minutes, but it was Daniel Sturridge who grabbed the attention with a sublime hat-trick, while Fabio Borini and Jeffrey Bruma completed the scoring, the latter with an excellent free-kick. 2. Injury News

Still no Deco. 'We don't have Didier Drogba and José and also Joe Cole and Ferreira are unable to play at this moment, also Deco cannot play tomorrow,' he began. 'Maybe Zhirkov is not able to play tomorrow, we need to take three players from the Academy, we are happy to do this because we think we have very good talent and this is a very good opportunity for them to enter the squad - Hutchinson, Bruma and Borini.' http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...1796991,00.html
  3. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Gael Kakuta spent the last week in Japan with France's U19 quad at the Sendai Cup. He played the full 90 in the opener against Japan scoring a brace, the match finished 3-3. He didn't play at all in the second against South Korea, France won 1-0. He started against Brazil and was subbed in the 72nd, France lost 1-0. The Sendai Cup website lists him as winning sort of prize but Google translate is not making it very clear as to exactly what it's for. Quite enjoyed watching him against Utrecht this weekend. Shame about Perez giving it away after Stoch tracked back and won the ball and for missing the penalty. Happy that he's with Twente as he'll be getting European match experience instead of riding our bench or playing against boys in the reserves.
