  1. Galatasaray 1 Chelsea 1

They did alright against Madrid last year and they actually have some quality players. It's not going to be easy.

Same club that decided they really didn't have looming midfield problems for years and when they finally decided to address it they ended up waiting months and paying more for a player they could of had for less and worse still they bought an average player who only looked good playing high up the pitch in a #10 position.
  3. I just don't ever see Lukaku making it here. As you said, "It's not enough getting a striker that scores. He must make us a better team overall." Lukaku's hold up play is average and his control is terrible. I don't think he'll ever have the ball control to make it at Chelsea especially playing against teams that pack their own box. Who knows, he might come into his own eventually but I see that as being so far down the line it's basically impossible to predict if he'll be our player by then.
  4. Chelsea Vs Everton

Agreed. City most likely won't get a result against Barca and won't have the league to contend for. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pellegrini put out a soft side against Barca to guarantee they don't progress so they can focus on the league and he can get one over Jose. I think as Chelsea resumably progress, the lack of genuine rotation and a match winner will leave us dropping points along the way.

No one. Which is why it's completely insane that they signed Mata. They have Kagawa who can't get a game so surely he must be sold but that still leaves Mata behind Rooney. Mata hasn't looked great on the wing for United. I think that they must be planning on selling RvP. It'll allow Rooney to move forward and Mata to play behind him. Perhaps when they defend, they can swap positions so Mata is the farthest forward with the least responsibility and they're not so weak through the middle.

I don't think Matic is as amazing as people make him out to be. I do think he's been good so far and is a massive improvement over either Ramires or Mikel. It's the relative difference that is so impressive. I'd curious to see if he can exert more of a creative influence and thread passes for a striker or other attacker to run on to towards goal. However, we probably could also use a striker that isn't complete crap.

34 goals, 13 assists in 35 matches. Creative, technical, a clinical finisher, strong in the air, and has a great understanding of holding the ball up and dragging defenders out of position. He is absurdly good. So many of the goals he scores are amazing because he has the ability to score goals that few have. Ronaldo is the only player bettering his goals/game percentage. It seems like Ibra is getting better with age. I'd have him in a heartbeat over any other striker in the world.

He's scored 20 in 29 and was bought for 65 mil euro. I don't think Chelsea is going to break the bank for just one player. It would probably take 70? 75? million for Cavani and he'd really have to want to be out of PSG. Much smarter to spread that 75 million across bringing in two strikers and perhaps another midfielder.
  9. Manchester City 0 - 1 Chelsea

Is Ramires suspended? I reckon Mourinho will go Cech, ivan, cahill, Terry, azpi, matic, mikel, oscar, willian, hazard, eto'o. Play 4-3-3.
  10. Chelsea 0 - 0 West Ham

Can't believe he even used the concept (I won't say word) "Out-tactic'd Mourinho." It's not as they had some brilliant plan to neutralize Chelsea and hit us on the break. The strategy was "hold on for dear life and get in front of shots." Credit to them for executing it but there were no tactics or strategy to it.

We spend 12m on a defender who will either allow us to sell Luiz or we can keep, loan him around for a year, and then integrate him into the first team. If he doesn't stick, like KDB, we can sell him on for a massive fee. It's good business no matter how you look at it. It's a fantastic price for a player who genuinely has the potential to be like Kompany as Harvz said. He's also a player that is so highly regarded that if he doesn't fit here he can be sold for twice what he was bought for.

What does winning something have to do with being a good footballer? Plenty of great players never won anything because they played for the wrong team at the wrong time. It's a team sport after all.

Personally, I think Sturridge is miles ahead of Lukaku in his all around game. I don't think Lukaku will ever make it at Chelsea.
  14. Official: Romelu Lukaku Joins Everton

Limped off is putting it mildly. Howard had to significantly assist him.

Apparently Lukaku has ankle ligament damage. Gareth Barry slipped and fell into the back of Lukaku's ankle. He could not walk off the pitch on his own.
