  1. Didier Drogba

I find it crazy that people are slagging him off. He scored the only goal and ha sbeen overall great for us. He been having niggling injuries all season and managed to score over 10 goals for us! Some on you guys are just not satisfied. Is it a case of CFC doing so well that you are becoming so fussy that you want to nit-pick every single minor fault. Let's slag off Makelele for that one bad stray pass last night and forget his MOM performance shall we? Of course not, that would be daft, just like you all slagging Drogba off! I liked the fact that he used his celebration goal to hug the Godfather.
  2. New Kits

Surely Glen Johnson should have the shirt Number 1? He the best goalie ever!!
  3. Ashley Cole

quote:Originally posted by Tom NeweyA clever move by the club, as it would certainly (if true) reduce any punishment we will receive. What the club is implying is that Cole's agent made the first move which means three things: 1) Arsenal will be more likely to sell Cole if he did instigate the meeting as I'm sure even Arsenal fans couldn't support a player who wanted to join their rivals 2) It will probably lower his asking price 3)It would explain why his agent has continuously denied it took place and Cole said nothing, as they were the ones to blame. Kenyon always refused to confirm/deny the story. If it is true, I think we could expect a hefty fine, Cole a small fine and his agent probably stripped of his license. Plus it would make a summer move for Cole a real possibility. id="quote"> id="quote">Excellent. You cannot fool Peter Kenyon. This smells of Kenyonian stuff. First, refusing to attend the enquiry due to legal matters, then attend the 2nd meeting but shock the FA with more Colegate news about Ashley tapping us. Fantastic...

Speaking of Chelsea friendly papers, has anyone noticed how very pro-chelsea the Mirrorid="red"> has become? I can't remember an anti-chelsea article coming from that rag since before Christmas! I can't help feeling suspiscious of their agenda on this one. They are either hoping to build us up for a bigger fall or the guy who edits the sports pages has suddenly become a Chelsea fan! I think we should be told ;-) id="quote"> id="quote">That;s is because Batesy has left. Since Bates left, the Mirror has become Pro-Chelsea! quote:Originally posted by Toby BrownIt's a big hoo-ha about us allegedly not co-operating with the enquiry. The last paragraph of their least visible columm (sorry had to go buy it just to see what it said!) say's it all; "A Premier League spokesman added: "Everything is proceeding to the timescale we always envisaged." So where's the story then? id="quote"> id="quote">Ha Ha. The NOTW is for the thick-headed who just want to ogle at the tits and the scandal stories. It is a brain-washing paper owned by a Rupert Murdoch. I am sorry if I offend anyone here, but anyone who buys the NOTW is twisted and dumb. Read the proper papers like the Observer and the Independent. Daily Mail is also a very terrible paper and very brain-washing.
  6. Didier Drogba

The only problem I had with Drogba was that he wasn't more careful with himself after the first booking. I expected him to be less forceful on the defenders, but he didn't. Of course he shouldn't have been sent-off but I knew he be off the pitch when he continued to muscle with the centre-backs.

quote:Originally posted by lintonI was having a conversation/argument with my lecturer earlier (who incidentally is a Gooner) and he seems to think that we are in £200m+ debt. I tried to tell him that Roman has paid off all our debt and that Arsenal are more financially fragile than Chelsea, but he wasn't having it. Surely we aren't in debt, are we? I would just like to clear this up. Can anyone help? id="quote"> id="quote">We are still £80m in debt, but the difference is that RA arrival have given the creditors assurance that their loan will be paid. As Gary Stone has said, the debts will not be paid off straight away but over the normal course of due as the creditors will be receiving the interest as well. Even once that is paid we are still in debt to RA in the fee of £250m. It is just a question of whether RA will waver this and write it off as personal expense or he will add this debt to the next potential buyer. In other words it will be added to the Chelsea's Market Capitalisation figure. Chelsea's MC figure is currently approximately £332m. Man Utd is £876m.

I just made the stupid mistake last Friday beleiving the Cole nonsense when finding the apper on the train commuting to London.
  9. Ashley Cole

We already dropped 2 points against City, so I don't think we can handle any more points to be docked.
  10. Ashley Cole

IF, we are guilty, IF, we shouldn't get docked any points. Aston Villa didn't lose points for tapping Beattie. Nor have Man Utd or Arsenal been docked points for their previous tappings in the previous seasons.
  11. Chelsea Finances Thread

Michael, My sentiments exactly. I was gutted when I found out that RA wants every penny back from his original investment (however 0% interest). I suppose in a way that is good as it will strongly encourage us to become more self-sufficient although I think it will be longer than 2010 to break-even. No such thing as a free lunch.
  12. Ashley Cole

Perhaps Wenger told Cole to meet up with PK and JM and then hired News of the World to get evidence and present it to the FA and we get deducted 3-5 points. This is ONE big conspiracy that is cooked up by Arsenal FC in a bid to win the Title... This is a bigger scandal than JFK's assassination...
  13. Chelsea Finances Thread

I read that RA wants his money back from the original investment. I though he paid it off and doesn't want the money back? It's frightening when we have projected to break-even in 2010 and that is if we qualify to the CL every year!!
  14. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

I agree with what you saying. You are spot on about having a JT every 5 years who actually CARES about the club rather than just buying the best 17 year old in the world who is from say Spain. This Youth Policy and Academy is the Long term Plan to ensure that we can be self-sufficient and not rely on RA to fork out £50m for every player. Your Spurs fan is actually jealous, he knows that we are finally stepping in the right path to building a great long term future. There was no incentive for Chelsea FC to create a new Youth Academy after the arrival of RA, but we did! That's because despite the arrival of RA, we are still focused on our LT future. Going back to your point, yes it is better to keep the original youth team as having the right HEART is just as important as buying the most skillful players. I do think we need to buy SOME world-class youth players to mingle with home talent. You need to marry the two together. For instance we could keep the Younghusband brothers, Watt, Hollands and also envisage to buy perhaps the next Pele from Brazil, the next Crufhf from Holland and the next Zidane from France.
  15. Gianfranco Zola

Roman always get what he wants in the end....
  16. Gianfranco Zola

No matter how old he is, he will still continue to entertain and score!
  17. Gianfranco Zola

Perhaps we can get Zola to join our Youth Team Academy at Cobham and given the task to bring up a team of 11 Zolas!! Wouldn't that be great!
  18. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

Only Terry is the home-produced player. We bought Huth, Cole and Forrsell, so they don't count. Other successes (contrary to debate)are Jody Morrss, Eddie Newton, Duberry and Sinclair. To be honest, our youth system up-to-date is shambles. However, the last 6 months is contrary to this (I.e. Cobham, Mourinho stresses the importance lof Youth system, the signing of the Reading Youth manager). In 3-4 years time, I'm sure we will see the first signs of a burgeoning Youth Development of Exceptional Chelsea players.
  19. Didier Drogba

Glen, I have a feeling Kezman will be our main scorer in the last few months of the season.
  20. Didier Drogba

It took Kezman 3 months to hit it off with PSV and he became the best goalscorer of all time (beating RV Diver). So I wouldn't get rid of him yet!
  21. Gianfranco Zola

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS About time too. He should be knighted though!
