  1. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by BluesBrotherHi all, (thought I'd just say that as this is my first post on here1 ;-)) I was praying that Essiens arrival on the pitch today wasn't going to be a case of Jose making a bad asssessment of his new charge... but I'm pleased to say that it was ME making a bad assessment of Jose's powers of judgement! Essien was very impressive, all things being equal. There aren't too many players that could walk into a team in a foreign country and make such an imediate impression on their debut in such a high profile match... There was a great deal of pressure on the lad to perform, so top marks and full respect.. what a prospect! He'll do for me, a real workhorse with more than a 'little' skill and total confidence and belief in his own ability. id="quote"> id="quote">Welcome to the Site!

quote:Originally posted by basoleThe beauty with my negativity towards Essien is that if he turns out to be like Redondo, I will be very happy. But for those of you who are expecting a Maradona, if he turns out to be like Redondo, you will not appreciate him. id="quote"> id="quote">You sound wise when you uttered that statement!

Isn't that why you buy them in the first place? Players don't set their transfer fees, clubs do. id="quote"> id="quote"> No way Michael,I will give Diarra 3 seasons, Del Horno 1 season, SWP and Essien I month. id="quote"> id="quote">Since Tiago costed £10m, I assume that mean he had only 1 season to prove himseld and he has failed miserably last year. Ha! Gudjohnsen is obviously preferred as he was chosen by Mourinho in the Wigan game.

quote:Originally posted by ChrisChelseaI think he won't be on the bench against the Arse, but will be against the Baggies. He may even start then, who knows. id="quote"> id="quote">Agreed, Arsenal game is far too early for him. But he will watch the game.

quote:Originally posted by Champs4ev@I reckon that Essien will be a big bonus for us. after Jose said that he was unhappy with a few of the players after the wigan game it will be a shake up to some of them. And Lampard will definitely have to get back to his best with Essien's arrival drawing near. id="quote"> id="quote">Welcome to the site.

quote:Originally posted by hernancrespoRipped off! No patience by JM! Buying average players at ridiculous prices! Chelsea unending money spending circus! Never buy to groom but buy and destroy! Silly silly spending! PLEASE TIAGO GO AND IMPROVE YOURSELF ELSEWHERE! I really love you and always will! You have a bright future and don't let some clowns get you down. I honestly want Tiago to leave us now and lets see how stupid we are. id="quote"> id="quote">Just like Scotty Parker aye? He has an awesome debut for Newcastle against Arsenal on Sunday. Basole hasn't apologised to me. Chelsea can't have rated Tiago much if they wanted to offer him along with £24m lure Essien. Poor Basole.
  9. Didier Drogba

I know what you mean. But it is good for Drogba to be kept on his toes. And I am sure Crespo doesn't mind. He is an intelligent striker and knows that with 70+ games ahead he will be most likely to play at least 30 games if he stays injury free.
  10. Didier Drogba

While I agree that everyone has Free Will, I advise the following not to be read: 1) The Currant Bun 2) Daily Mirror 3) The Daily Fail 4) The Evening Standard 5) The Daily Expressless
  11. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

The better team won, but the youth team shows encouraging good signs of the near future. Well done Brendan, well done lads.
  12. Michael Essien

It's not the end of it. Roman Is meeting the Lyon President on Tuesday. I expect Chelsea now will give in and hand over £30m+.

quote:Originally posted by BlueBloodedChezzThe game kicks off at 5.30pm, and a stream can be found at the following address... http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/milkcup/ Just click on '5.30pm Premier Group Final: Chelsea v Barcelona', and a console will open up. Then select 'Chelsea v Barcelona 5:30' on the menu on the right. The game is also being shown on BBC2 Northern Ireland (Sky Digital Channel 962), but it starts at 7pm and as such, it is not live coverage. Hope that helps! id="quote"> id="quote">Thanks for that Chezz. Come on you Blues.

I would opt for Terry or Lamps. It's ideal for the centenary shirt.

  25. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by Robin DyerDo you think United or Arsenal can afford to spend 25-30 million on Essien? Aulas is just trying to get Chelsea to pay what he is demanding. Walk away Kenyon! id="quote"> id="quote">He has done that. The deal is dead, while I am disappointed with that, I am glad Chelsea did not give in to pay £32m + player.
