25 mins of highlights here (may be UK only). If you do nothing else, then I urge you to scroll to 21 mins and listen to the gloriously biased commentary from the ChelseaTV boys as Connor strikes the winner.

Only heard this from Rick Glanville's twitter stream but: BIG NEWS: #Chelsea cleared of all wrongdoing in transfer of Gaël #Kakuta from #Lens by the C.A.S. All FIFA sanctions lifted. The Official Chelsea Football Club Website: Statement on Kakuta Decision

Thanks Phil - he was kind enough to come and celebrate his two goals right in front of me, so I couldn't miss could I (kind of an open goal for me!)?

It occurs to me that it's in our interest for any appeal to be heard before the next transfer window. Consider the following possible timelines: Sept/Oct '09: CFC launch appeal, sanctions lifted temporarily Jan '10: Transfer window opens - Chelsea can buy players Spring '10: Appeal heard * Outcome a) Sanction reduced to one window period (Summer 2010) * Outcome b) Sanction maintained (Summer 2010 & January 2011) or Sept/Oct '09: CFC launch appeal, sanctions lifted temporarily Nov/Dec '09: Appeal heard * Outcome a) Sanction reduced to one window period (January 2010) * Outcome b) Sanction maintained (January 2010 & Summer 2010). Given the most likely outcome seems to be that any appeal will result in the ban being reduced to one transfer window, wouldn't it make more sense that this was January 2010 - the January window being a far less busy one for all clubs, including CFC for the past few years? Even if the 2 window ban remains, then next summer and the january following is likely to be more damaging than serving the next two and getting it out of the way IMHO.

  12. Following Chelsea's Loans

Was listening to five live on the way home from the reserves last night. The commentators at Southampton v Brum on several occasions singled out Jacob Mellis for particular praise. Was very nice to hear given the lack of quality exhibited by those left behind at Brentford last night!

I'll be pitchside with the cameras. I'm sure Phil will be crafting one of his most excellent reports. Dan
