  1. Michael Essien

Is it just me that is absolutely bored rigid over the whole debacle. And all this hand wringing by Chelsea supporters is more than a little embarrassing. When Robben got kicked in the air at Blackburn I dont recall the media going into self-indignant over-drive or Blatter having anything to say over that matter, or Hamman using a Norwich player as a spring board. Now give it a rest eh??!!
  2. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by madaboutlfccomparing his tackle to shevas head butt is disgraceful.. one is career threatning and the other is not id="quote"> id="quote">LOL - ah what an intelligent post! Headbutting in this country is be classed as a criminal act, and could be punished in the civil courts! A wreckless challenge is just that, a wreckless challenge. Your statement is as idiotic as your handle.
  3. Michael Essien

I take it Shevchenko will also be charged for his head-butting incident last term?
  4. Didier Drogba

What about Eidur and JFH? ok they were both strikers but a great combo in thier first season together.
  5. Michael Essien

If we get Essien chances are the fee will be undisclosed - this would suggest that we paid less than OL were asking for. Otherwise, we should just walk away from the deal.
  6. Michael Essien

Yep commonly called "upping the ante." Although I do like the 'see who blinks first' analogy. At last we may be seeing a far more intelligent buying strategy, we've got our domestic title, we've done well in the Champs League, people know who we are and what we are capable of, now its time to rule the roost in the transfer market. And I don't mean by throwing cash pound notes at every half decent player we see, but by hard nosed negotiation or by knowing when to get up from the table and leave the room.
  7. Frank Arnesen

quote:Originally posted by archivalTHFCSpurs' position is that they have had a very important employee approached by Chelsea. Everyone knows that tapping up goes on all the time and Spurs have done it in the past but that is irrelevant. Spurs made their statement publicly as a threat to Chelsea. Chelsea know that it would be best to just pay off Spurs than risk a points deduction from the FA. Levy has actually been clever for once and put himslef in a very good bargaining position. If you lose one of your best players then you expect to get a lot of money for him right? so it is no different when Spurs lose someone as important as Arnesen was. It is only fair that we should be compensated with £10m or the equivalent value in players for Arnesen. I'm sure Levy is angry at Chelsea just for trying to get Arnesen when they don't need him, rather than the fact that he was tapped up. The fact that he was tapped up is fortunate for Spurs because they can now name their price for Arnesen and blackmail Chelsea! id="quote"> id="quote">Sounds to me as if Levy is talking himself out of cash rather than into it. We are (and never were) going to be deducted points for this, anyone with a brain cell know this! And you seem to conveniantly forget that no tapping up has been proven as yet - if that were the case, why on earth would Levy be still trying to negoatiate a 'sweetner' deal. As per usual you follow the typical Tottenham party line of delusion.
  8. Didier Drogba

Is it just Chelsea supporters that would slag off their whoever their favourite target for abuse after a great win in the biggest club competition in the world? Hughjars99, you get called a gooner because maybe you come across as someone that doesn't enjoy a Chelsea win. Drogba was instrumental in that win due to his goal - deal with it mate and enjoy the win.
  9. Ashley Cole

quote:Originally posted by James PrescottApparently (and yes it's a red top but anyway) Ashely Cole could be temepted to leave Arsenal at the end of the season as Real Madrid want him but apparently Chelsea are also interested. Remember what I said about Chelsea being rumoured to want another left-back? the plot thickens... id="quote"> id="quote">No James, the plot is far from thickening, in fact the only plot here is the plot you are obviously in danger of losing. a) Ashley Cole is hardly going to leave the gooners for us - Real Madrid maybe but not us. B) You read a (red top) article with no quotes and attach truth to it. This is a fundamental error which I hope you aren't in the habit of making. :-)
  10. Didier Drogba

*sigh* More whinning. Last time I looked Rooney was worth 30 million and he has scored how many premiership goals for man united? As for the chap that feels that the price of his ticket doesn´t warrant the fee the club paid for Drogba, well the easy answer to that is NOT to pay it. We need to grow up and realise that just because we are paying huge amounts of green doesn´t mean that we are buying robots. These players are still human beings. And sulking because we dont have a team full of instant Zola´s makes us fans look like.....well, Man United.
