  1. Eden Hazard

Anyone else think Hazard is just winding up the press? He knows anything he says will be gobbled up by the press, especially if it I anyway hints at something not good for Chelsea. I can just see him giggling to himself every morning seeing the press jumping on his latest soundbite. He isn't playing like a player that wants out and he isn't interviewing like that either, he's clearly loving his football, love the life he has here and for the moment I don't see a reason to rock the boat, unless of course we don't make the CL next season

The linking to a NOW TV Pass for every match is advertising...
  3. Chelsea 2 Manchester United 2

Ray Wilkins, Paul Parker, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Mark Hughes, Mark Bosnich, Juan Veron... I'll keep thinking Lukaku, Falcao The 2 remaining non PL I'm struggling with
  4. Chelsea 2 Manchester United 2

Tricky game this one, for obvious reasons - only calls for Sarri will be Kovacic or Barkley, Giroud or Morata and Pedro or Willian, personally I would go with the below: Kepa Azpilicueta Rudiger Luiz Alonso Kante Jorginho Kovacic Pedro Giroud Hazard Subs: Caballero, Cahill, Zappacosta, Barkley, Fabregas, Willian, Morata We're the better team, but these big games are always hard to call. If Hazard is on top of his game again, he can win it for us. Come on Chels!
  5. Ross Barkley

Agreed. It feels like Barkley is this seasons player to bash and no matter what he does, some just won't rate him. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this guy is going to be one of our best players this season necessarily, but I do think he can do a job for us and can be a more than solid backup/competition to Kovacic. Let's get behind him and support him.

    Urgh, international break!
  7. Southampton 0 Chelsea 3

Watched the first half and listened to most of 2nd on the radio - to my eyes and ears it seemed as though we dominated majority of the first half, apart from 5mins or so where Soton got back in to it before our first goal and the 2nd half was a bit more open, but we were ultimately comfortable victors and probably, yet again, left some goals out there - but fortunately it didn't cost us. Barkley had a really good game today and I'm so pleased for him, he's been written off by so many, but I've always felt there is a really good player in there if he can get some form and it appears he is getting that now - could be a great player for us this season. Reading through this match day forum, I would have thought we had lost! edit. I've just seen the Morata goal and he takes that really well.
  8. Michael Emenalo

    That is pretty appalling isn't.
  9. Southampton 0 Chelsea 3

I'd pick Morata for this for 2 reasons... 1) Giroud is better off the bench 2) If Morata starts after scoring, that should give a small boost to his confidence and IF (big if) he scores again, it could go a long way to getting his confidence up and maybe finding some form I'd go with: Kepa Azpilicueta Rudiger Luiz Alonso Kante Jorginho Kovacic Pedro Morata Hazard Subs: Caballero, Emerson, Christensen, RLC, Barkley, Willian, Giroud Sunday games after Thursday nights are always going to be tricky, but with plenty rested and last night being at home, we should have enough to beat this lot.
  10. Chelsea 1 MOL Vidi 0

I hope we'll see CHO and Ampadu, but I have feeling Sarri may go for a stronger team again, until qualification from the group is secure, so I don't expect both to start. I think it'll be: Kepa Zappacosta Cahill Christensen Emerson Kante Fabregas Barkley Pedro Morata CHO Subs: Caballero, Azpilicueta, Ampadu, Kovacic, Hazard, Willian, Morata
  11. Chelsea 1 MOL Vidi 0

Surely we'll see CHO and Ampadu in this one, at least off the bench
  12. Frank Lampard: Legend.

Super Frank returns to Stamford Bridge for the next round of the League Cup... that is going to be so weird!
  13. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

What a game, so refreshing to see a Chelsea side attack a game like that and genuinely try to win and play to our plan A. I'm so impressed with what Sarri has done in such a short period and it's so nice to see happy players and especially a happy Hazard. The end result is frustrating, but if you'd offered me a draw before the game I probably would have taken it, so in the grand scheme of things, being frustrated with a 1-1 says a lot about how well we're doing. We looked better defensively today, Luiz and Rudiger complimented each other well at times and David Luiz passing ability is sensational, what a game he had today. I feel like that pairing is beginning to work and fair play to Sarri for sticking with them, I think it will pay off long term. Presume we can all agree that Rudi is an absolute hero - love that guy, although he does have the odd rush of blood to the head and I fear he's going to get himself sent off. Kovacic had another great game, he is a serious talent and a fantastic signing - I hope we're already talking to Madrid about making that deal permanent. My only concern with him is that for some reason Sarri pulls him at 60-70 mins every game, presumably that's because he's tired, which is a shame as if he stays on, I think we see that game out. I also think Fabregas should have come on instead of Barkley, we needed someone who could come on and help keep possession and Fabregas was perfect for that. I also think it's time CHO replaced Moses as AM4, the team are clearly more comfortable with the system Sarri wants us to play and so no reason that CHO can't start being integrated in to the team. Yesterday's game probably wouldn't have been the best time to throw him in, so I can see why Moses was included, for the experience and understanding of how to manage a game a bit more, but if Moses is ahead of CHO for midweek, then someone should probably have a word in Sarri's ear. January, we need to go in for a striker if we can, it's going to be tricky to find the right player in January, but we should be doing all we can to find someone - Giroud is decent off the bench and for the odd game, but he isn't a number one striker for a top 6 side. Morata is Morata and I have nothing more to say on him for now, nothing has changed there. Finally... Hazard, I love this man. If he can keep this form up, he's going to have one hell of a season and we should get that new contract signed asap! He should have scored the 2nd when he was through 1 on 1 and should have been cuter and lifted it over the keeper, but I can't really be critical of him after what he's done for us this season. Order in the cotton wool in bulk, make sure he is tightly wrapped in it through the week and unleash him at the weekends to terrorise the premier league. An absolute star and he's our star!
  14. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

I can't help but feel you're underestimating how good this Liverpool side currently is. I hate Liverpool, I detest them, however they are annoyingly a very good side right now - the balance in the team is very good, defensively they are looking solid and going forward the front 3 they have can be ruthless. They are still behind Man City for me, but they are a very good side and we will need to be on the very top of our game to win this one.
  15. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 1

Very tricky game this, it's against the in form side in the league who are looking very strong and they're not just looking to bounce back after a defeat, they're looking to bounce back after a defeat to us. Really hope Pedro is fit for this one as Willian is clearly in one of his down moments right now. I don't expect it to happen, but I'd be looking to find a way to get Fabregas on the pitch for this one, his passing from deep could be very important, however getting him in without becoming too defensive will be tricky as I can't see Sarri not picking Jorginho. the other problem we have is who plays alongside Luiz at the back - Christensen was probably favourite before Wednesday night, but after he went off with a knock and made a few mistakes, I think Cahill may be preferred, for his experience. What I'd like to see: Kepa Azpi Cahill Luiz Alonso Fabregas Jorginho Pedro Kovacic Hazard Giroud What I think we'll see: Kepa Azpi Cahill Luiz Alonso Kante Jorginho Kovacic Willian Giroud Hazard Subs: Willy, Emerson, Christensen, Barkley, Moses, Pedro, Morata I think it will be a very nervy score draw. 1-1
  16. Eden Hazard

We live in a crazy world these days
  17. Eden Hazard

He just comes across as such a genuine and nice guy who just loves playing the game and it also feels like he's someone who has fallen in love with the club, much like many before him.
  18. Eden Hazard

Best player the league. One of the best players in the world. What an absolute hero!
  19. Liverpool 1 Chelsea 2

What I want to see: Caballero Zappa Cahill Ampadu Emerson RLC Fabregas Barkley Moses Morata CHO What I think we'll see: Willy Zappa Christensen Luiz Alonso Barkley Jorginho Fabregas Moses Morata Willian I think we'll draw after 90 mins and then who knows what will happen. I also think Liverpool's team will be stronger than many suspect. Salah will play.

We drop our first points of the season in game 6 and from what I've read on the last few pages we're now about to tumble down the table and half the squad aren't fit to pull the blue shirt on... come on guys and gals, let's cal down a bit it isn't ALL doom and gloom. Don't get me wrong, that was poor performance, but every side has an off day. A few things I think went wrong/Sarri got wrong: - Rudiger shouldn't have played midweek. I know hindsight is a great thing, but this guy has played every game this season and we had Cahill who could have taken his place easily midweek. - CHO should have been on the bench. I didn't expect him too, but he really should have been - he would have given WHAM something really different to deal with had he come on. - Kante shouldn't be the most attacking of our 3 midfielders. I understand he has the legs to play box to box constantly, but he's no good in the oppo box so it's all a bit pointless. I'd rather Kovacic in that position, coming off after an hour for Barkley if he's tired. I was expecting us to struggle today, a long journey back on Thursday night that got delayed with most of the 11 having stayed the same, I'm not surprised they looked so tired and without Pedro being able to come off the bench to make in impact, we really struggled. We also need to invest in a striker in January, desperately.

We're in agreement again, I'd definitely keep Zappacosta, just not as a winger. Moses will stay for the season I think, he's a good squad player to have, he has a lot of PL experience, he works hard and will do almost any job he's asked to do. He's a great player for Sarri to have in the squad whilst trying to implement a new system IMO - I believe he will move on at the end of the season though as I think by then CHO will be more integrated in the first team. P.S. Cult hero status as soon as that ball hit the back of the net!
  22. West Ham 0 Chelsea 0

I'm honestly not sure, I should have caveated that lineup with my assumption that he was. If he is fit, he plays for me for sure, but is possible he could just be on the bench with Barkley starting. Agree RE CHO, but as I said in a post a few weeks back, I don't expect to see him until the team have a better understanding of how Sarri wants to play as it will be much easier to introduce him in to a side where those around him can guide him through the game much better with a fuller understanding of the system - this is why I think Moses is currently ahead of him in the pecking order... Zappacosta playing on the wing was an odd one though!
  23. West Ham 0 Chelsea 0

This game worries me. I feel like it has a few ingredients to make it a frustrating day for us... Chelsea coming back off a Thursday night game in Greece (delayed as well) West Ham coming off the back of the first win of the season This is one of West Ham's cup finals We've only beaten them twice in the last 7 attempts West Ham will be so up for this and they will not let us settle and so it will be interesting to see how we react, our players won't get much time on the ball at all - Luiz worries me in this one! However I'm still hoping a fully rested Hazard will make the difference for us. I expect to see: Kepa Azpilicueta Rudiger Luiz Alonso Kante Jorginho Barkley Willian Giroud Hazard Subs: Caballero, Zappacosta, Christensen, Fabregas, RLC, Moses, Morata I'd like to see CHO make the bench with Pedro out, but I think he'll still opt for Moses ahead of him for the time being. My heart says 2-0 Chelsea, my head says 1-1.
  24. Squad Status: 2018/2019 Season

This is great news! I've seen a few bits recently about other clubs sniffing around etc, so to nail him down is a great move by the club. I really hope he gets some game time this season and even more the following - this kid can skip the loan period and push for a match day place within in a couple of years IMO.
  25. PAOK Salonika 0 Chelsea 1

So Jorginho, Kante, Willian, Fabregas, Alonso, Zappacosta, Barkley, Morata, Pedro, CHO & Ampadu all definitely travelling and Hazard appears to not be. Would seem to indicate we're going to see some of our key men tomorrow, at least on the bench and hopefully a run out for CHO at some stage (hopefully from the start).
