Can’t argue that he isn’t slow. Quick brain, slow feet. Hopefully one will compensate for the other! Ironically Kyle Walker is probably the other way round! :-)

Well said. Christensen apart for a period towards the end of last season where his form dropped (probably due to being overplayed) was quality, he had a decent World Cup too. He will do well again next year. Luiz I love but a lot depend on what mood he is in, I hope we see the Luiz from 2016/17. I can see Rudiger and Christensen being the main pairing but I have not written off Cahill either, he is not as bad as some make out and I suspect will do a decent job if he plays. Alonso gets a bad press, the guy oozes technique and despite many people on here saying he is not good enough whenever I see him he is absolutely one of the best players. He got voted in to the premier league team of the year last year, can’t be that bad! The two goals against The Spuds last year should have given him legend status rather than the constant calls to upgrade! We could have Rahman back or a Luke Shaw. I know who I would rather. Defensively I think we will be fine, I too (like most it seems) have worries about our forward line and our ability to score enough goals. 2 days until kick off! Getting excited!

I know quite a few Fulham season ticket holders (half my family are Fulham, fortunately I chose the right half) and they all think that both players are poor particularly Piazon. Kalas played a bit more (29 starts) but Piazon only started 16 games, neither integral and I think we will be lucky to get a set of kit and a Mars bar for them.

I think you will find he is away in Tenerife with his kids, according to his Instagram account he is anyway. I think you need to let go of the TC hating.

Being reported on sky sports web site, will be tied up in a few days apparently. With the players we have let go let's hope we start to see some coming in soon (and not Barkley).

It's because he invested money in to the club in the first place your expectations are high. Without that investment it is very unlikely we would have had the success we have. It is his money, he has the right to do what he wants with it. We should be grateful for what he has done and hope that his strategy moving forward proves successful. Who can blame him for not wanting to invest another billion and try a different route? When I read on here people complaining about Roman it makes me smile. Give me him over Uncle Ken any day!

TalkSport reporting Mata having a medical at United tomorrow. Sad times, what a player for us. Shame he is going to them but wish him well. Hopefully he can help Utd get results against our rivals.
  8. Official: Chelsea Sack Di Matteo It's official, until the end of the season. I am officially depressed.
  9. Official: Chelsea Sack Di Matteo

I would rather have a goat in charge than Benitez.
  10. Official: Chelsea Sack Di Matteo

Completely gutted by this, we are a joke. If the fat Spanish waiter gets put in charge I think I will cry. I guess I should not be surprised but I am just gutted, he deserved better than this.
  11. Official: Eden Hazard Departs For Real Madrid

Ahhhh Micky Hazard....... as a youngster I was over the moon when we signed him. "A poor man's Glenn Hoddle" my Dad told me, which in my mind meant he was better than most of our team. As it turns out he was more of a poor man's Neil Webb. As for Eden, I am optimistic he will sign, he has bundles of talent and just what we need.
  12. Salomon Kalou

Done some research...... Below are the games that his goals had a direct result on a win or draw for us (quite a few more than 7 or 8). As previously stated he is far from my fav player but to say he is our Traore or we won't see much more of him in football is nonsense. Scored in 2-1 win against Everton in CC October 2011 Scored winner against Benfica in ECL march 2012 Scored winner against Rottenham in prem April 2011 Scored in 1-1 draw with Everton in cup in Jan 2011 Scored in draw with Newcastle in prem In Nov 2010 Scored winner against QPR in CC 09/10 season Scored in 1-1 draw with man u in prem in sept 08 Scored in 2-1 win v Cluj in UCL in Dec 08 Scored in 1-1 draw with Southend FA cup in Jan 09 Scored 2 v boro in 2-0 win in prem, Jan 09 Scored winning goal v west ham in April 09 Scored against Sunderland in 3-2 win in may 09 Scored winner v Bolton in 07 Scored winner v Newcastle in dec 07 Scored in 2-1 win v full ham in prem in jan 08 Scored in 2-1 win v Wigan in 06 Scored winner v Watford in prem in 07 Scored in 3-3 draw with Rottenham in FA cup in march 07 Scored in 2-2 With Bolton in prem in april 07 Cheer up, smile, we are winners of the Champions league and like him or loath him Salomen played his part and he is a trier.
  13. Salomon Kalou Looks like Salomon is off. Probably one of the most frustrating players I have seen in a Chelsea shirt, often guilty of picking the wrong option however he can finish, is a worker, always puts the team before himself and seems a nice guy so on balance I am sad to see him go although I think it is for the best and we will improve in this area. Good luck Salomon for the rest of your career, it has been emotional......
  14. Didier Drogba

Listening to TalkSquark and they are reporting that The Drog said goodbye to his team mates and told them he is off. A sad day but given the CL win it is a great way for him to bow out and I think he is right to move on. Over the years he has frustrated the hell out of me but also given me moments that I will never forget, he will always be considered a Chelsea legend. Farewell Didier, thanks for the memories and if you do happen to play against us again try and stay on your feet!
  15. Disappointed that AVB did not get longer as I feel we need stability from somewhere and I hoped he was it. I fear that any manager now coming in has to start from scratch with squad evaluation and we will not move forward as quickly as we could have done if we had stuck with AVB. That said we have not been good recently and with Chelsea's record over the years with managers (Uncle Ken loved a sacking too), it is no surprise. Robbie getting the job is something the board has got correct. Rafa would have been a nightmare. The fans will get behind him, the players will respect him and he does have some managerial experience. I hope he is bold and makes some changes to the shape of the team, we can't do much worse than we have been. As for next manager I am thinking an old hand with someone working under him to take over after a few seasons. Capello and Zole..... Capello will pick the team on merit and will get the best out of the old Guard with Franco to take over once the transition is complete. It won't happen but it would make me happy..... One last thought, does this mean Steady Eddie Newton will come back to help out Robbie as with WBA? Legend!
