  1. Michael Essien

Drinks Cristal and his dad drinks from a standpipe in his village? Are they suggesting Michael drinks Cristal like ordinary people drink water? Does Michael even drink Cristal...judging by what I've read, he seems to be a quiet guy who's not even that interested in partying and such.
  2. New Kits

Not too impressed, but it could be worse. I mean, we could still have Umbro shirts. Their current designs look awful...the England shirt most definitely included.
  3. New Kits

Bright colours like yellow help the players find eachother on the pitch. It may not be pretty, but it's useful.
  4. Didier Drogba

Pardon my ignorance as I know absolutely nothing about the subject, but I have to ask: does the headgear symbolise something?
  5. Didier Drogba

The CAF people knew the winner in advance, so they could have organized something. BUT still, I think it was Drogba's choice, though. Especially now that you confirmed me it is traditional West African clothing.
  6. Didier Drogba

Well deserved. Finally Drogs gets some recognition. Like me, most of you have have probably seen pictures of Drogba after receiving the award and I was wondering what was that clothing he was wearing in some of those pictures. Here is a picture for reference. Is that something the the winner is given to wear or or is that some traditional Ivorian clothing Drogba has decided to wear to celebrate the occasion, or is it something completely different? Any idea?
  7. Musical Tastes

My brother likes Dream Theater a lot, but I don't know if I could listen to one of their albums without falling aspleep. Talented musicians...shame about the music, though. I don't hate their music, just find it quite boring.
  8. Musical Tastes

I'm not that much into Reggae...I'm more of a ska man. Mainly the classic Jamaican ska acts and the British 2-Tone bands. I like some Reggae too, but ska is more my cup of tea.
  9. Musical Tastes

I agree pretty much all of that. I like some hip hop too, but my favourite hip hop/rap acts include A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, De La Soul, Erik B & Rakim, Public Enemy and older stuff like that.
  10. Musical Tastes

I like to have some variety to my music collection. It really depends on the mood. A good song is a good song, no matter who performs it. The last five CDs I've listened to: XTC - Drums and Wires, BEIRUT - Lon Gisland EP, RAMONES - Anthology(cd 1), SIMON & GARFUNKEL - Old Friends(cd 2), SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES - A Present From the Past(cd 2) Hmmm...for some reason there's quite a few compilations there. Been meaning to find out if any Billy Bragg records are worth getting as I've liked quite a few of his songs that I've heard recently. Never had any Toots & Maytals on cd, so I've been thinking of buying their 'Roots Reggae' box-set to get that problem well taken care of. I really regret not asking the taxi-driver the other day what he was playing in his car. All I know it was some scorching hot African funk. I don't even know which country it's from, but I'm pretty sure of the continent. Sadly enough I'll probably never know. I've been a big fan of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle since my early teen years and I've been waiting for Mike Patton to come out with something new that wouldn't be quite so artsy fartsy as his one man and a microphone record or quite as thrashy as Fantomas are. For some reason I ignored the Tomahawk records when they came out, but I recently saw on youtube and I have to say I was impressed. As well as Faith no More, the band has people from Jesus Lizard, Helmet and Melvins. "Holy crap", was my first reaction..."this is a band I'd like to see live!". I haven't been to a live gig for a long time, but next week I'm thinking of going to see this local ska band The Valkyrians do a Valentine's Day Special. In fact the last gig I went to was when The Valkyrians opened up for Aggrolites last year. Well, I just love to see them live. Their music puts a smile on my face and makes me wanna dance! Atomic Swing's comeback gig must've been the one before the Aggrolites gig.
  11. Chelsea Reserve & Youth Team

There seems to be many promising youngsters at the club at the moment, so hopefully in a few years time we'll see one(or even two) of them make it to the first team.
  12. Didier Drogba

    Sure...we are above them. :)
  13. New Kits

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. We've got a blue shirt, a white shirt and obviously we need a shirt to wear when those colours clash with the opponents' kit colour when playing away. We've had black third/away kits before, so this is the worst thng to happen to us since...well, the last time we had a black kit...? Uh...just reminds me of that Flogging Molly song: "...It's been the worst day since yesterday..." ;) What other colours could we have picked for the third kit? How about red? That would be different enough from our blue and white kits... :P I don't really have a problem with the pinstriped kit...it's not my favourite kit of all time, but as we might have ended up with something as horrific as Liverpool's Euro kit, I think we've got it pretty good.
  14. Ashley Cole

quote:Originally posted by James PrescottGreat. Now we miss out on the best left-back in the world and go for someone not as good, and probably only over a matter of two or three million pounds. Bridge although good enough looks hopelessly out of touch and Gallas isn't match fit. Great. Who do we go for now, that's good enough and available? id="quote"> id="quote">PARDON?! Ashley Cole? World's best leftback? Yeah right... I seem to recall hearing something about us offering £16mil and Arsenal wanting £25mil. If those figures are right, then it's not just a matter of £2-3mil
