Using that logic shouldn't we just bring through Kakuta, Sturridge, McEachran and co. rather than buying any attackers?
-
Well if that's the case then it's not a problem anyway.

I was expecting the Riddler. I'm really looking forward to True Grit, I'm a big fan of the Coen brothers and the reviews have been top draw. I want to see Monsters and Black Swan at some point too.

Apart from one story using quotes from his agent he has never said anything about where he wants to play. I think people are taking the whole thing a little bit too far.

Or even better, read the book by Jon Krakauer about Christopher McCandless. Superb read. It covers the same events as the film while delving deeper into his family life to try and see why he did it. The author does a superb job of both telling the tale and helping you relate to McCandless and his family. Thought-provoking, inspiring and heart-breaking in equal measures.

Spot on. JT could get struck down with his back at any time and a quality replacement is needed. Welcome to the site!

I understand that he himself just says whatever gets people ringing in but unfortunately there are thousands of listeners who would take it seriously and believe him (see: any Spurs fan).
-
It will be a very sweet middle finger to all the idiots like Adrian Durham who think the Pienaar deal shows Spurs are now better than us.

Haha you're rather pessimistic aren't you? There are positive reports of us getting closer to a signing and all you can think of is it falling through. I'm very happy with the news today. Regardless of the transfer fee, it shows the board are willing to backing Carlo by making improvements to the squad and spend whatever it takes to do so.

I'm really pleased for them. It shows that with a lot of hard work you can be successful without selling out. They have 5 quality albums under their belt and their live shows are utterly brilliant, the best I've seen.

I think I'd be classed as a music snob too, I certainly wouldn't listen to much of the HMV playlists. Many of the new bands that get publicity (from Radio 1, NME etc) are rubbish, it seems the record labels decide who will get bigged up and the magazines run with it. There are very few bands I really like that are widely known in the general media, usually because the bands that get played on the radio are made to play a certain kind of music. Kings of Leon are a prime example. While I've never been a fan, the change from proper rock to stadium filling rock-lite with generic guitars, useless lyrics and singalong choruses earned them success but alienated their original fans. Very rarely an exceptional band gets publicity without conforming to radio-friendly music, The National (my favourite band ever) have been nominated for a Brit this year (alongside Bieber and the Glee cast), but I still question how many people have heard of them really. It depends on what you mean by substance I suppose. I consider many bands to have it.

Yes Tame Impala are a good listen. Plenty of that sort of 'chillwave' stuff about this year.

I agree wholeheartedly. Using one source to discover new music gives a blinkered view, and using only mainstream radio gives a blinkered and incredibly poor view. I'd recommend anyone who is disillusioned with modern music to look harder!

Oh dear... I think it has been a fantastic year for music. In my circles anyway.

What are everybody's favourite albums this year? I've picked mine: http://sleepinginthelillies.tumblr.com/post/2430256773/jons-albums-of-2010

You are just looking in the wrong place.

Yep I was hiding from you all day, he saved major embarrassment. Anyway I wasn't claiming to know all the facts, I just think that the knee jerk reaction to blame the board/Arnesen every time something negative happens is pathetic. It seems that unless you eventually get fired (Jose, Wilkins etc.) you are just deemed one of Roman's cronies who is a waste of money.

See Juni's post.

The majority on here didn't even understand his role, let alone know what he did wrong. Pathetic.
-
Finally saw The National in on Wednesday. They lived up to all expectations, exceptional stuff.

Bronchitis is contagious though, that's reason enough for a few more days off. :)

The problem with malaria is that it can never be fully recovered from so there's a chance he could be ill periodically. However I'm no expert on the current drugs and I bet he is getting the best treatment available so maybe this can now be prevented with state of the art medicine.
