  1. Gianfranco Zola

As much as a loved watching Zola putting emotions to one side on pure ability it has to be Ronnie everytime.
  2. John Terry

quote:Originally posted by George123Another great thing I noticed again about JT against Portsmouth was his encouragement for us to attack. I often see that we are not going forward enough; JT rectifies this by collecting the ball deep and running across the halfway line. This is a truly fantastic way to show the team the way forward. He has done this repeatedly this season and I think it provides great motivation to the rest of the team to play more offensively. id="quote"> id="quote">I notice this alot as well, he might pass the ball of and just keep running get it back and then try and drive into the opponents half with it.
  3. John Terry

I think this might be a hopeless task I think Freddie has it in the bag already.
  4. Gianfranco Zola

quote:Originally posted by wackoZola was a player who was arguably passed his best when he joined Chelsea, Lampard is approaching his. Frank is still not fit to lace Zola's boots. Okay, that's an exaggeration, but I honestly don't see what all the fuss over Lampard is about. Highly overrated. Brilliant eye for goal and scores some crackers. That's about it. Zola was magic. I'm no Chelsea fan, but I always enjoyed watching Zola. He was something special. id="quote"> id="quote">I think you must just watch the highlights when Frank scores the goals and never the games. He controls the midfield, sets the pace for our play, plays long range passes that open up and stetch the opposition constantly, which are by the way better than Gerrards constantly over hit ones but lets not get into that. I just hate the way some people still think Lampard is overrated try watching a game for Chelsea and you will see just how much he means to our team.
  5. John Terry

Great comments by JT, even got me fired up reading that. Where going to be up for this against Blackburn big time. common Chelsea!!
  6. Michael Essien

Good work guys and girls on the translation. I still wont believe this until I see it confirmed on the official site and I see him in our shirt at the press conference.
  7. Michael Essien

Right place right time comes to mind, now we just need someone to translate it! anyone out there?
  8. Michael Essien

Looks like it could be over. However I am still thinking he might come out and say he has changed his mind just for the added effect. Can anyone translate this into English?
  9. Didier Drogba

quote:Originally posted by guillaumeHe makes this interview 2 months ago, at the end of the last season. I read that in a french newspaper. id="quote"> id="quote">My point proven, I thought I had heard this a few months ago. Its the papers looking through the archives to try and make it out that there are internal troubles at Chelsea we should just ignore this stuff.
  10. New Kits

Whats with the obsession with the kits on here recently. Every other thread is about the bloody kit, its a kit thats all! So people have to wait who cares does it really matter if you dont have it straight away?
  11. Didier Drogba

Give the guy a break, are system probably doesnt suit him. More importantly you dont know how his words have been twisted like other players have in the past.
  12. Michael Essien

There was nothing in the first tackle, just picky refereeing you can't do anything anymore, second tackle was a yellow though.
  13. Michael Essien

Its a bit wild but its not that bad.
  14. New Kits

This thread has just evolved from the new Chelsea kit into the pros and cons of Pc and Mac..interesting..mind we have enough "new kit" threads for the moment anyway!
  15. Gianfranco Zola

I agree a role in the youth team would be the best idea. It would pull in alot of young kids to the club as well I would imagine. The chance to be coached by a great like Zola would be attractive to young players.
  16. Didier Drogba

quote:Originally posted by Arjen Robbenquote:Originally posted by Tony BurkeArjen Robben - explain why you think it would be good? I am amazed. You think it would be good to spend £24 million pounds on a player then loan him to someone for free 1 year later. I can't wait to hear you business strategy on that one! id="quote"> id="quote"> Just such a waste off money, and it frustrates me so much, watching the game, and seeing so many chances go missing by this guy. Going back to the west brom game, okay he scored the winner, but he should off had about 7 or 8 goals. I can't say we should loan him, because I dont no the new striker coming in, but when I do, ill gladl'y give you a strategy. hope that help's any way mate. But about business strategy, why did Chelsea pay 24 million on him, when he's worth only 14? That's something I'd like to know. id="quote"> id="quote">How can we judge him to be a waste of money after one injury prone season? You talk about the West Brom game and in this dismiss the key point "he scored the winner" so he missed some chances he still won us the game. I feel some people expect us to buy some sort of striker that scores every opportunity and that just is not possible. If Drogba had missed that chance that Shev missed in the Champs League final there would have been outrage on these forums. Why did Chelsea pay 24million? The simple fact is we will be taken to they cleaners on every transfer we do because of our finances. Just give the guy a chance I feel our expectations are for perfecton and its unrealistic and to loan him out next season would be one of the craziest things I have ever seen.
  17. Frank Arnesen

I have just read in the Observer a paper I thought would have some shread of reality and they are saying a sports lawyer has told them we could fase up to a 12 point deduction!? thats ridiculous. However further on they say "the FA has indicated last night that while the suspended threee point peniltiy imposed last ednesday would not be activated if Chelsea were found guilty of tapping up Arnesen-it applies only to an offense committed next season - the clubs previous conduct would be a factor in deciding punishment." Thats the line being taken by the Observer.

quote:Originally posted by mini-moWhat the h*** is this? At last the Ashley Cole saga was done, I was looking forward to some peace and quiet. I live with a Spurs fan, mind you! Now this weekend is ruined :-(. What do we want with Arnesen anyway Isn't the Sporting Director a part of José's job? Is the next bombshell tonight that José has resigned? I can't live with this, my brain has gone numb. id="quote"> id="quote">Please dont joke about him resigning it doesnt bare thinking about. I'm sure they must have sanctioned the move for Anersen with Jose.

quote:Originally posted by Ollycfc2004quote:Originally posted by Simon PooleEveryone needs to cool off I think its a good sign that we have come out straight away and rejected this. id="quote"> id="quote"> Sorry Simon, but we are all understandably shocked and disappointed, it's not possible to cool off. Spurs wouldn't post such a strong message on their official site if there was no truth in the allegations. We claim they gave us permission, yet they say they didn't. This will turn into a slanging match. You have said 'it's good we have come out straight away and rejected this', but remember the Ashley Cole case please! We came out and rejected that straight away, then went back on our word claiming we would make no comment, before later changing our story. The fans have no trust in many of the people in high positions at the club, notably Kenyon and to an extent Greenberg. The problem is, I and many others don't believe them! The aftermath of the Ashley Cole saga has left the club in a bad state. We would expect them to have some sense and cool off a little themselves, after all, we are bound to be the club in the spotlight for a long time to come. This latest allegation looks so bad because it has happened so soon after another 'tapping up' incident. id="quote"> id="quote">I feel the same in the respect of trust. I dont know whether I can believe them either. Its disappointing that when our club makes a press statement we dont know whether they are telling the truth but that is the result of numourous lies this season from people within the club.

I dont remember this happening with the Cole saga.
  22. Frank Arnesen

We dont know when this approach even happened. This could of been on the table for a few weeks or months or even before the Cole thing came out. I dont want to see Jose go, sorry but whatever has happened he has got to stay.
  23. Frank Arnesen

I can't believe that Jose would not have sanctioned a move to bring him in. We just look stupid now we need to sort this out otherwise we will start getting points docked.
  24. Frank Arnesen

Anymore reaction, I have no idea whats going on here.
  25. Michael Essien

Lets not let this turn into yet another Tiago pros and cons thread ok guys! we already have a number of them I am sure! ;)
