  1. Didier Drogba

I agree with having Ballack take them. Does anyone remember the one he scored vs. Werder Bremen? That was an absolute rocket!
  2. Gianfranco Zola

I'm moving to Sydney in 2 weeks time, and can't wait to catch a few A-league games! It's been 2.5 years since I was last there, and to be honest, the football league was a joke. If Zola makes appearances, I'll be there will bells on!
  3. Michael Essien

We have taken that stance with Drogba, and personally, I think he's shown good progress. Look at the stats! Sure, he perhaps isn't an out and out striker, but he's improved significantly. With Essien, I think the same will be true next season, although it will be interesting to see how far he progresses with the introduction of Ballack. He's had his first full season in England now, and appears to have gotten used to the game more. Next season when he starts with a clean slate, I think he'll regain a lot of the confidence that he lost over the Hamman saga - and will greatly add to the team!

gah I *really* wish I'd seen this tackle now! has anyone got a link to a highlights clip by any chance?
  5. Didier Drogba

the problem I find with having him as the sole striker up front is that his first touch leaves a lot to be desired. It was fantastic in the charity shield with his first goal - a world class strike - but sadly, it's not consistent. In my opinion, it's his first touch that lets him down too often. I'm by no means a 'naysayer' and have supported him throughout, but I feel it's something that he really needs to work on before our long ball strategy really starts to have an impact..
  6. Didier Drogba

I think he's making his prescence up front known a lot more - a sign of growing confidence. The last few games, as a sole striker, he's been really heavy on the defence, and always a possibility when the ball is cleared forward. I'm looking forward to watching him play next season!
