  2. Michael Essien

If Essien, Maka and Lampard play in the middle, then we might have to revert to 4-4-2 to accomodate Eidur. Duff is quality but I am getting increasingly worried that without Arjen Robben, his input is not that encouraging. Only JM can answer this question though...

quote:Originally posted by helen elsePlease calm down. Chelsea have been stupid and foolish in the past but we have to wait for the facts. Spurs announced this yesterday a full 2 weeks after the event. You have a crime against you and you report it 2 weeks later that stinks. Great timing for the Sunday trash papers. We and Tottenham agree that we did approach them about Arnesen. They then say we overstepped the mark about sending a copy letter. This was sent at the same time, was it to his home address or to Tottenham. As a employer you would have to tell him of a job offer. That is in employment law, which makes the Premiership rules a joke. If a complaint comes in Chelsea will win the case hands down. You are not allowed to restrict a person from talking to another party. We will have to pay compensation. For those who do not understand Arnesens role. He will be in charge of our academy and scouting network. Something he is one of the worlds best at. He has many connections all around the world. We are aiming to bring in the best young players to our academy set up and train them to a higher standard. Michael I agree with you we could have done things a bit better than this. Spurs quite rightly are very angry at losing Arnesen to us. We would be no different the other way round. Jose gave his full blessing to this. He has looked at different options, with Arnesen his first choice. Do yourselves a favour don't buy the Sunday papers today, many of you may commit suicide at what crap they will dig up today. id="quote"> id="quote">OK Helen... I had calmed down after sleeping last night until Nilesh woke up my angry glands. Unfortunately, I have just got the Sunday papers delivered and I am about to read them. God help us!
  4. Frank Arnesen

Nilesh, Rules are rules and that is why I pay TV license. When you are in Rome, behave like a Roman and stop making excuses for your excesses! No sensible mind can be happy with all this negative publicity and if you feel that abiding by rules is naive, then you could be a very lawless citizen. If you feel this strongly, why don't you drive past every red light shown by the Traffic stands, then you will discover that jail is not that far away. Article U10 has been existing for some time and it did not need us to break it. We should not be seen as arrogance personified, therefore we need to tread the grounds carefully. if Arnesen felt so strongly about joining us, why didn't he tender his resignation before this came to light?

quote:Originally posted by Trev Crossequote:Originally posted by hernancrespoThe article UB40 sorry! I meant U10, is written in very clear English. It clearly states where you can be right and where you can be wrong. I do not understand what the fuss is all about Frank Arnesen! Director of Football in Chelsea? Is he going to improve Drogba? Is he going to lure Adriano? What exactly is Kenyon's role in Chelsea? A tap master? If they will be another fans meeting with those who run Chelsea, this has to be a SERIOUS topic of discussion and Simon Greenberg should not talk anybody down. These dodgy acts has to stop! Those who come to equity come with clean hands and I don't know who to trust in Chelsea anymore barring Roman Abramovich who doesn't say much. Enough is enough! id="quote"> id="quote"> Presumably the idea behind getting Arnesen is that he'd be the 'tap master'- he seems to be significantly better than Kenyon at not getting caught! Interesting choice of equitable maxim! We're not seeking equity though are we? Spurs on the other hand... hope they've checked their fingernails. id="quote"> id="quote">I understand Trev but this has somehow made me feel a bit unhappy today. Peter Kenyon I was made to understand was to increase our marketing base but he has replaced that with reckless tapping. Spurs are angry and I do not blame them after all, Frank Arnesen is just one year old there and they see his combination with Martin Jol as perfect. What makes us feel that after all this brouhaha, Arnesen will not clash with Mourinho? Surprisingly, this latest embarassment is being linked to an email. Maybe next time we will use the text system which I think Gerrard already used with Mourinho after Euro2004. Today is a funny day and someone on this site suggested selling Arjen Robben. The wonderful lad scored against Mutu's Romania today and set up the other. What is the difference between that person and Peter Kenyon? I hope this is cleared soonest and everybody running this club understand the true meaning of the word "INTEGRITY". Not that Arsenal understand that either...

quote:Originally posted by Ze Bombay BlueI agree with harvz.......what took spurs so long to come out in the open......or are we being targeted systematically by other clubs and the media.......??? I think we have to deal with such issues ina forthright manner if we are innocent. id="quote"> id="quote">I do not agree with this! The way you make your bed determines the way you are going to lie on it! We have yet again played into the hands of Andrew Dillon of The Sun, Rob Beasley of NOTW, Steve Curry of Daily Mail and that terrible Phil Cornwall of Football365.nonsense! The article UB40 sorry! quote:Originally posted by Toby BrownSo Chelsea's earlier statement of; "Chelsea Ltd made an official approach to Tottenham Hotspur for permission to speak to Frank Arnesen two weeks ago. Chelsea Ltd has been in direct discussions with Tottenham for the last two weeks on this subject.†didn't lie, but it didn't tell us the entire truth now did it......? id="quote"> id="quote">That's why I saying that this whole thing is shady and we are behaving properly. It is simply over-shadowing our immense success on the pitch! Peter Kenyon was employed to make us a global brand but he now seems to have turned us into a tapping brand!!!
  10. Frank Arnesen

quote:Originally posted by Trev CrosseThis is a bit of a different situation to when we picked up Kenyon. He was absoultely nothing to do with the on-pitch management. Presumably Arnesen is considered part of the coaching staff and therefore probably is covered by some rule somewhere. This allegation is still completely unproven. I'm really not worried yet. NOTW probably just realised they had nothing to flog their rag with for the next couple of months so thought this would be a nice one! id="quote"> id="quote">Well, I hope so... But did we insist on getting Frank Arnesen after Spurs said no? Does no mean yes? Was Arnesen the last piece of the jig-saw puzzle needed? There just has to be a better way of doing things! Arrigo Saachi is the new Director of Football for Real Madrid and I am not sure he had a job before they got him. How come we are the only ones always cuaght in such cross-fire? It cannot always be like this. That's my point!
  11. Frank Arnesen

I have just read the Q10 article and it does not absolve us of any blame in this. My sixth sense tells me how did we get Peter Kenyon from ManYoo? Was he not in contract with ManYoo went we signed him? Did we seek permission from ManYoo? If Arnesen was convinced on coming, why didn't he resign before all this? This is just simply MESSY!!!
  12. Frank Arnesen

I've just back in and I am still reading stuff on this. If for whatever reason we are found guilty, then heads MUST roll! If we are in the right like the official site says, then we need to be more careful and sensible!
  13. Frank Arnesen

I was just about to go out shopping and heard this news. What is really going on? Can we not stay out of unnecessary trouble? I'm upset!
  14. Michael Essien

Well, I would love Tiago to be groomed but if after signing Essien, Adriano should be next. Only reasonable money too...
  15. Michael Essien

Seems to be true and he looks enthusiastic about it. That's what I want to hear. But what happens to Tiago and Jarosik?
  16. Ashley Cole

quote:Originally posted by WiseJTWhat's all the hullabaloo about the verdict. Bearing in mind we have so much money to burn, PK needs to write a cheque of 600,000Gs (incl. Ashley Cole) and send to the FA. Case dismissed. id="quote"> id="quote">It's not about money but about principle and exposing flaws in the illegalities and incosistencies of these fines. Let the war begin and I hope that Arsenal of a team get exposed by thoer own medicine. My fury with Arsenal knows no bounds over this matter!
  17. Ashley Cole

quote:Originally posted by Dan Murphyhernancrespo, are we just going to appeal the club's punishment or also Mourinho's? Either way, I think Kenyon should pay Mourinho's fine for him! id="quote"> id="quote">Dan, I would assume that we will contest both becuase this is unprecedented and we are clearly singled out when Liverpool got away with a lesser fine and David O'Leary virtually got away free in the same season. The point is that David Dein and Wenger played a vital role in seeing this punishment come to pass and I strongly detest them for that! I know that PK has his own flaws but it would be unfair to ask him to pay for Mourinho. Somehow, we have to fight these fines and 3-points deduction threat. There is no law to back it up and the rules cannot just change when it gets to Chelsea.
  18. Ashley Cole

Bruce Buck has just confirmed that we will appeal! Great stuff!!!
  19. Ashley Cole

This is very annoying and I have just seen this. See why I hate David Dein? He and Wenger are the main proponents of this ridiculous and irritating judgement. They succeeded in pissing me off on just getting home!!!
  20. Ashley Cole

I am ready to go to jail for this. That judgement will be silly, annoying, irritating to say the least.
  21. Didier Drogba

Let's just be fair on this guys... Drogba has next season to prove himself whether we like it or not. Looking at the video clips of Ronaldo from PSV to Real Madrid to Brazil, he does the job thus justifying the huge transfer fees he attracts. Crespo is another clinical finisher who Ranieri's tinkering and London life did not allow him do the job. I defended Drogba until his long ball trash talk. Next season, the knives will be out and I may borrow Gronkjaer77's gun as well.
  22. New Kits

The black and blue away kit for the 03/04 season was class. The White came and confused us even more and the black and grey looks good but is very hardly worn by us. If we continue to wear the white all through, we may end playing like AC Milan in the last Champions League game against Liverpool...
  23. Didier Drogba

I have defended Drogba and criticised him as well of late. But something strangely tells me that he will prove himself next season. I have just watched his video again via http://leadersdufutur.free.fr/Drogba.wmv and it gives me hope.
  24. Michael Essien

quote:Originally posted by basoleHe may look good on TV but so was Djemba Djemba at Nantes. I have a feeling this will be another Djemba Djemba. Please Jose dont! Get a creative midfielder who can unlock teams that pack the bus (like Liverpool's in the semi final). I have every reason to believe that Stephan Appiah (if it has to be a Ghanain) is way way better than him. id="quote"> id="quote">Absolutely! This aptitude of getting one season wonders in France and thus expecting miracles in England never seems to end. Look at Cygan for Arsenal for example and even the over-rated Cisse for Pool. A playmaker definitely makes sense that is if we are not prepared to be patient with Tiago Mendes. What should bother us most now is getting Kaladze/Del Horno and then a quality finisher upfront!
  25. Gianfranco Zola

Give me Zola anyday! I want to see this legend back and that he could score in Turin shows that the man has not lost his magic. Gianfranco Zola! Lalalala Gianfranco Zola!!!
