  1. Didier Drogba

Drogba will forever be in my Chelsea heart. Despite all the stick he got he still charged back and had a groundbreaking couple of seasons. I hope and am pretty sure Chelsea helped Drogba's game as much as Drogba's game helped Chelsea. I expect a standing ovation the second he steps back on our grounds if he does indeed move on.
  2. Didier Drogba

I was always a huge Drogba supporter, even during his early days when seeing a positive post for him was as rare as seeing Robben avoid injury for a season. Having said that, he was much more of a balanced power house last season. I don't doubt that means he's not caring, or that he only would play for Mourinho, but he's not as much of a self proclaimed "warrior". I think at times he forgets that his chances of outpowering a defender and beating the keeper are three times better than one of our players putting in a free kick from 20 yards out. Keep fighting Drogba, if (and when) you leave, u should get huge amounts of money and so should we, and your strength is one of the reasons why youre the best striker in the world.
  3. Didier Drogba

Marwan, why do you insist that Drogba is only power and isn't world class with the ball on the ground? His footskills have improved more than anyone else in the world over the past 3 years. He holds the ball wonderfully and unlike some players on the squad, eh hem Kalou, he is a prolific finisher. He will play any style we choose, if its not working, its not due to his play.
  4. Didier Drogba

It is truely crushing but I think Drogs will go as well unless we show some serious heart as a team the rest of the year. I think he'll end up at Milan as they're likely sick of waiting, or weighting, on Ronaldo. Drogs always said he'd fancy playing in Italy and his eyes must light up when he sees Kaka's runs and Pirlo's crosses. I don't think we should sell him for less than 20 mil, and if he goes to Madrid I'll be gutted. I think we could eventually recover but he's been Chelsea's style of play even before he was producing mass amounts of goals. He holds the ball better than anyone in the world and that allows us to simply rely on that at times and see if our mids can make their runs. And for the record, his lack of goals this season means nothing, he is the world's best striker. And unfortunately we will not question that at all once he goes to a functional offense.
  5. Didier Drogba

Not having Drogba would be terrible. I can't even imagine being a Chelsea fan, I know it sounds shallow, but I first became a fan when we had Lamps/Drogs/Mourinho in 04-05. If those 3 ended up together at Inter of Milan, I'd feel like my heart would be in two places. Having said that, Drogba off the strike force wouldn't help the quick style imo. For Marseilles and Ivory Coast he played a fast paced game. He is quick with one-twos and can fire from +25 out. He's deadly in any style which is why we better get at least 27/28 mil. no matter his age. He's a work horse, 32 for him is 28 for a player like Crespo. I will say the same of Essien when he gets up there.
  6. Didier Drogba

This article is awesome. Drogba deserves all of the spotlight he is getting and he is the ultimate team player. Now let's make his wish our command and win the f-ing league.
  7. Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba has set his own bar quite high for the season. But the way he's been playing, why wouldn't he?
  8. Didier Drogba

I hate to brag, but I as well have been a Drogba fan since he came in 04/05 and have remained faithful. He's always been so passionate and now his goals are flooding in. Ballack needs to join Robben in the shooting practice, he's missed anything not from the spot or his head.
  9. Didier Drogba

Please take my word for it, fellow blues. I have watched Drogba's every move since he came to Chelsea and have evaluated him and kept track of his play. He is much better. Sure, he's still the same person. He always defended, worked relentlessly, and gave defenses a hard time. True. But his touch is muuuuuch better. His confidence with the bal- much better. His passing, vision, and quality of the three things I mentioned above- much better. You are blind if you see no difference in Drogba. Go watch a recorded game from 04-05 or 05-06. Then watch Chelsea vs. Barcelona, or any other game this season for that matter. As for Sheva, he has admitted that he hasn't had a great start. It's not just the fact that he hasn't put in a lot of goals. We havn't always needed those goals so I've never been bothered in games when we've won. He hasn't gotten a lot of clear cut chances, nor has he created his own. He's had some graceful runs in the midfield and I don't think he's lost skill. But that doesn't mean that he's not having a less than average- for his standards- season. And same with Frank, your believing your goal theory way too much. Essien hasn't scored goals and we're all hailing him. Sure he's defensive but Kalou we've agreed is playing good as well. He hasn't scored yet. Frank was much more fluent and attack minded a couple years ago. He's still a hard worker, good shooter, and capable of attacking. But IMO I think he doesn't feel the need to prove his dribbling/attacking ability because it is not his best attribute and he is not the best man on the team to do those things. What he needs to realize is that he can. Once he does, and he will, start attacking more, our entire attack- each and every player- will benefit from it.
  10. Didier Drogba

We'll be chanting his name as long as he keeps this up, which can/will be a while!
  11. Didier Drogba

I would be devistated if he pulled a Gallas on us. But that's a point I want to cover. Drogba's loyalty. He had his little fling this summer where he wanted to leave. Jose said no, you will be a big part of our offense. Rather than Drogs pouting and threatening to score own goals, he shut his mouth and let his performances do the talking. He kisses his chelsea emblem about every time he scores and that is why I love him. The fans spat him out in his first two years and he kept persuing there love. Smile for me Drogs, we all love ya now. And hopefully still in the next two months :)!
  12. Didier Drogba

The Henry headers were extremely rare, and nothing Drogba-like. I agree exiled blue. I actually predicted in the early season that Shevchenko coming wasn't our 20 goal striker. It was our key to exposing Drogba into a 20 goal striker he can be. Now save you, Sheva is capable of scoring 20, but I think the two of them can get 35. And that would be phenominal. After the hat trick today, I think it is safe to say that defenses may be keeping a closer watch on Drogba leaving a goal streak ahead for Mr. Shevchenko.
  13. Didier Drogba

Will he stay when his contract is up? As of right now, most of us hope he does, but I can't decide if he'll try to go to AC Milan or the Spanish League.
  14. Michael Essien

I would have never guessed! Go get her Michael.
  15. Didier Drogba

Exactly, from the header vs. Man City, the goal vs. Blackburn, and the cracker against the scousers, we should be talking about him like we talk about Essien. And we are beginning to thank God, because I believe that he'll work his arse off even more now that he has some loving fans in the stands. I think this topic name should be changed from opinion of Drogba to Fact about Drogba: He is a world class striker.
