Well, after 2 days I have finally calmed down enough to type, after nearly throwing the TV out of the window following Shearer/Hansen's 'analysis' on MOTD - a self-induced media blackout followed until last night when I cracked and checked the score in the Budgies/Mickeys game. Talk of conspiracy does sound fanciful in the cold light of day, but the rank incompetence of decisions recently does leave me incredulous to say the least. First off though, I have to say we've only got ourselves to blame for throwing away a title (barring a scouse collapse of Devon Loch proportions) that we'd manage to put in our own hands with 4 games to go. Our complete inability to pierce the flat back 11s that relegation fodder present us with is so frustrating it is giving me a bloody ulcer - first order of business pre-season is to sort that sh!t out and come up with plans B,C and D as I cannot bear to watch another game of us shuttling along the 18 yard line from left to right for 90 minutes trying to find an opening - it's like watching a pornstar with brewer's droop. With regards the decisions on Saturday, I'm still baffled by most of them like the rest of you. There was the deliberate handball at one stage which I'm pretty sure Schurrle got cautioned for the other week which seemed to pass without a word; the ridiculous disallowed goal where we were pulled up for a 'push' which comprised of about 10% of the force imparted upon Ramires when he was trying to head into an empty net. I'm not sold on the handball penalty call, look accidental to me, but the penalty we conceded was an absolute joke. To hear Shearer describe it as 'stonewall' was an utter disgrace - Dave slid in and missed him completely with his leading leg, then you can see the striker make a move towards his trailing leg to make sure he catches it. Utterly ridiculous call, but completely par for the course recently. Refereeing conspiracies are hard to believe - utter incompetence however is almost a pre-requisite for Chelsea games. What is not in dispute is the media love-in with all things Liverpudlian which sees us cast as villains and them as dashing crusaders of the beautiful game. Well, they'll be back at Europe's big table next season, let's see if their fans can get us all banned from Europe again, or gatecrash a stadium somewhere with fake/stolen tickets and cause some disaster. Ah well, a CL final would make up for a lot of it. C'mon you blues!
